Brown Fall 2010 Transfer Thread

So far, no one in this entire thread has been accepted? Wow! That’s including the people that got it by mail and the people that called earlier. Sheesh.

@Jadd3791, no problem! my online app status has always said Fall 2010.

hmmm i seee! haha just further speculation on that whole online glitch with the system thing. but that’ll all be over soon, hopefully tomorrow. (i’m on long island, ny)

Jadd3791- I’m from LI, too. I’m thinking (and hoping!) we’ll hear tomorrow.

The big day is almost here.

In 6 hours we can start calling and finding out. I’m nervous.

how long does FedEx usually take to get to an international location?
I will be stuck in Hong Kong for the next few days…so…not sure if I the acceptance or rejection letter will be sitting there waiting for me or not…

sorry guys but i just called and theyre not releasing decisions over the phone until monday. i bet most of us will have our letters by then

Accepted for spring. I’m pretty conflicted–Brown was my first choice, but I don’t know how I feel about spring admission.

Incidentally, I have not had the ability to log in for a while, but last time I could my status was still Fall 2010.

lion, did u get it from fedex or snail mail?

Snail mail. Big envelope.

Congrats, lioninwinter! Where do you live?

thx, and congrats!

Thanks! I live in NYC.

rejected. got my little regular envelope on long island today! a little shocked because i put so much into it, but it’s not meant to be. good luck to everyone!

@lioninwinter - about spring admission, i would have considered that a blessing. there are so many cool things you could do with your time off- make some money, do a full-time internship in a different city, be an au pair abroad, train for your pilot’s license, i dunno. a few of my high school friends were offered spring admission this past year and one of them interned for parliament in london, and one of them made bank as a restaurant hostess in new york city. you have a semester handed to you on a silver platter - this opportunity is one not to pass up just because it isn’t conventional!

Unfortunately rejected today from Long Island, NY. Brown was my top choice and my biggest dream. I retook my SAT and ACT, worked my ass off to pull off a great GPA, and had two awesome professors who wrote me recommendations and looked over the essays that I wrote and re-wrote about 50 times. This is devastating.

Congratulations to all who got in- I hope you all have an amazing time in Providence next year.

Congratulations to all who got in!
One question: Did you receive your envelopes at your current or permanent address?

@sweetestthing

It’s not that I don’t agree with you. But I actually left the LAC I was at after fall '09. This term, I’ve been in New York interning and taking classes part time. And this summer I’ll be living in Paris. I’ve really loved my internship, and I’m obviously looking forward to Paris. But I’m anxious to be back in school. I want to get back into campus life. And I think that entering mid-year will make it harder to meet people–it’s a smaller group of entering transfers, there are only two days of orientation, and they place you wherever they can fit you.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not ruling it out entirely. I’m definitely grateful to have the option. But right now I’m leaning towards Georgetown.

hey guys, i haven’t posted before now but i’ve been following this thread… just wanted to let you all know i just got my letter saying i’m in for spring semester! yayy!

Congrats, jay! Were you able to log in to the site recently?
