<p>Brown did not give my D any financial ‘aid’/grant. All other schools Ivies, or very competitive universities gave $15 - $17,000 . </p>
<p>My EFC (Federal) was $29,000 - as calculated on collageboard calculator

<p>Brown is not competitive with financial aid.</p>
<p>I have a feeling that schools who took a hit in their endowments are going to be stingy the next few years. Brown says they admit needs blind and meet all need, but I think that this is finite at some point. And that point is reached earlier at some schools than others. Brown’s endowment is smaller than say Harvard’s or Princeton’s. </p>
<p>My Ds guidance counselor says for a few years, kids with money are going to find admission easier than before.</p>
<p>All the schols I have been reading FA info on say that they are commited to their current students—that they will see them through—that means to me they will be tighter with the kids they admit during the rough time, and at least until they graduate the current crop of kids they are committed to.</p>
