<p>Thanks for looking :)</p>

<p>Stats:
-Junior, Female, Hispanic, Southern California
-GPA: 3.75 UW, 4.05 W
-My school hasn’t really told us our rank but I’m pretty sure the top 10%
-Competitive Catholic School
-APs: AP Spanish Language this year. Next year I will take AP Spanish Lit, AP Government, AP Literature, and AP 3D (ceramics/other mediums)</p>

<p>Testing:
-SAT: 1910 (bleh)
-ACT: 29 (I liked the ACT alot better. Probably going to retake for a 30+)
-Subject Tests:
Spanish: 740
Literature: 640 (beautiful I know. Do I hear retake?)
Took US History but that I am not confident in it at all. Probably have to retake as well.</p>

<p>ECS (My main ones):
-Girl Scouts (11 years): Gold, Silver and Bronze Award. I earned the Gold Award by working with the Ronald McDonald House.
-Guitar (3 years): It’s fun. I’m not amazingly good or anything but I enjoy it
-Volunteering (3 years): I dedicate days I have off to going to a school with a lot of latino children and helping out with the kindergarten classes and I go to project success about 2 times a week. By far my favorite EC, I love those kids so much </p>

<p>Awards and Honors:
-Gold, Silver, Bronze Award (I already said that), Presidential Service Award, National Honors Society, National Art Honors Society.</p>

<p>Extra (Hook I guess):
-I am Latina (Bolivia/El Salvador) and proud . Parents are immigrants and I’m going to be the first in the family to go to college. I learned to speak English in kindergarten and 1st grade.
-200+ community service hours</p>

<p>Essay:
About getting in touch with my Bolivian culture :wink: It’s a work in progress lol</p>

<p>The fact that your Hispanic will really help. I'd just try to get that SAT up another 100 points or so, or get above a 30 on the ACT like you said. Brown is a crap shoot for anyone, but you have an advantage so you have a much better chance than say......me ( Asian :( ).</p>

<p>Hey I know this is old. But I really want to know if I should bother applying or not (I know I'm not as smart as other people who are going to apply). I'm thinking about doing ED. I got my SAT II for US back and I got a 680. I'm probably going to retake. Thanks for looking! :)</p>

<p>Apply, end of story.</p>

<p>1.) Retake standardized tests.
2.) Get more involved in your school community.
3.) Make sure your essay says something about who you are/your character--your current work in progress suggests you already understand this point.</p>

<p>I would apply regular decision since you'll have a good portion of winter break to work on/review your applications--make sure you take care of sending transcripts and recs before break starts though of course. It is too much of a hassle to apply early.</p>
