Brown girls?

Well I read somewhere (not sure if it's true) that Brown requires head shots of each applicant and tries to maintain its statues as the "most beautiful ivy" (people wise). lol not sure if it's true but maybe it will help you. :)

pics are not required but there is a place for them. they dont admit based on how purty you look.

yes, and that place is here.

go

i applied online and i dont think there was a place for a picture...or i must have missed it
if i sent a picture i would have for sure gotten in....

haha i really dont think the picture has anything to do with actually admissions. i asked a friend who attends brown, and he said that it helped with matching you up with your roommate or something?

anyhow, no matter. there wasn't even a spot to attach pictures this year on the online application =(

i dont think reslife goes through pictures for housing purposes. they might use it for the face book though!

anybody who demands good academics and beautiful ladies from their schools: Stop looking at the ivies. Simple As That. Go to UVA, Vanderbilt, UCLA, USC, and Notre Dame. As a note, UVA, Vanderbilt, UCLA, and USC all rank top 20ish in this particular subject. Visit these campuses and see for yourselves, you will be amazed.

do you think that they facebook all or some of the applicants? thats kind of creepy to think about..

patlees:

well if i considered plastic beautiful, perhaps UCLA would be a good place...in the mean time...

Have you ever even been to UCLA, or is this a california stereotype?

i'm actually judging off of my old school which has a similar dynamic to the above listed schools.

My son graduated from Brown. I do not know if this is still the practice but the picture sent with his application was used by the school for his ID which was waiting for him when he arrived and was also included in a Student Directory they issue, also upon arrival, to the entering class with everyone's directory info.

My daughter applied online this year and there was no provision for the photo. However, the paper application did have the same photo request as my son's application a few years back. - - Some colleges ask for photos because it helps admissions to put a face to the app as they go back and forth in their evaluations.

My D applied last year online, and it was not until this year that we learned there was the option for a photo if the paper app was used. I honestly think including a photo with the app is very odd and off-putting. I am glad that we didn't know that and that the online app didn't ask for that. She probably wouldn't have included one if she had used the paper app. That being said, when we went to visit on parents' weekend, we found that everyone at Brown looked terrific! Bright, interested, curious, exciting, shiny-eyed, enthusiastic, all good things. To me, those are the true attributes of attractive-ness (word?)

haha, omgoodness.
yeah...so what's the verdict guys??

I don't know if this was addressed earlier, but where's the thread about Brown guys?
