Got really delayed, but I got to spend an hour or so around there. It was absolutely AMAZING. The people were nice, the campus is beautiful, and oh man I’ve never seen a greater campus!! I just felt completely…at home. I especially love how it’s like, it blends into the city so well!

coming here?

Yeah I went last week!

I could never visit before knowing if I got in.
I know I'd fall in love, and get my heart broken. So I'd rather not visit until I get in, and know I can have it if I want it.

^^^ i would visit. you may be able to cross schools off your list or ad ones you didn't think you liked all that much.

and obstinate, so you're applying here?

Ah yes, in two years. I know, regardless of whether I visited or not, I'd be heartbroken if I didn't get in. So it's this way:
Would you rather:
a. Apply, get in, and come to the school and find it's kind of lame.
b. Visit it, apply, and get rejected

But as always, I'm working damn hard to make sure I get in. I've been through lots of adversity and really worked hard to overcome it, especially as of late. There's been a lot I've gone through lately, and I guess Brown likes that right? If I didn't have that idea in my head I don't know if I'd still be here now :)

obstinate, you can't "make sure you get in"

you just can't.

Clay - Especially since college admissions are becoming so random.

Well, make sure I look VERY competitive :)

I'm kind of afraid of exactly what Perfected mentioned. I'm falling in love with a couple of schools already (haven't even visited yet, will in a few weeks, one is Brown, and both are very selective) and I'll probably end up rejected from both and really depressed...

Clay and perfect, I say that you can make sure that you get in.

Hm, I think it's vital to visit a college before applying (if possible). There were a few colleges I was seriously considering applying to (most prominently, Swarthmore) before I visited and realized that I wasn't as enamored of the school as I'd previously thought. Visiting, seeing the campus firsthand, really helps you narrow it down. It does make it suck more if you don't get in, but that's life.

In my personal opinion, I'd rather not visit Brown until I know I got in.
I just know that for me the rejection would sting a lot more knowing I had fallen in love with it when visited.

"Clay and perfect, I say that you can make sure that you get in."

By donating 100 million bucks maybe...

I already love it even though I've not even been anywhere within 4000 miles of it.

I am so scared ****less right now. (are we allowed to say that?)
