Brown is need-aware for internationals?

I never knew this before. I’ve always thought that Brown was need-blind, but apparently not.

“Brown will continue to consider an International student’s financial need when deciding to admit, wait list, or deny the applicant.”

This is so depressing. Can anyone confirm this? Is the website in need of updating or what? I really hope that that’s the case, because I would love to go to Brown but we need financial aid.

Brown * is * need-aware. No need to get depressed though, because Brown still tries to fulfill the needs of as many internationals as it probably can.

Yeah, after they’re accepted. What worries me is that if my app is just as good as someone else’s, but s/he doesn’t need finaid, that I will be rejected :(

No one’s chances are good rainbow. Whether or not this factors into your eventual acceptance/rejection – why worry about what you can’t control?

True. Okay, I will stop worrying haha there’s nothing I can do about needing financial aid. Thanks
