Schools:
NYU, my top choice
Brown University (reach)
Northwestern University (reach)
Boston University
University of Texas at Austin
DePaul University

Match:

UTA
DU
BU

Reach:

BROWN - High
Northwestern - Moderate
NYU - moderate (depending on department really).

I don't really see any special interests...

Half of your e.c are clearly college-appealing (they know this) and the rest are pretty basic. Your class rank doesn't mean much with that kind of student populous - although your API can change that.

Student government participation is impressive, but everyone and their mom's has that.

Only negative is SAT, but it's not that bad. ACT and GPA compensate.

I'd suggest throwing in some more schools.

/HS sophomore

Okay, thanks. Yeah, my school doesn't have AP/IB/Honors, or specialized clubs i.e., Spanish Club/Journalism Club/etc...how do I convey that?

Oh, and for NYU, I'm applying to Gallatin.

What other schools would you suggest?

Brown is a super reach (unfortunately),

NW and NYU are also reaches

i'm not sure how a 30 ACT will hold up against the other competitive applicants that apply to Brown, NYU, and Northwestern. Also, your SAT II's should be much better (for Brown atleast). Good luck though.

BU and the others are definitely possible.

Since when are NU and NYU in the same category?

SAT Ranges
NU: 1320-1500
NYU: 1310-1410

Yeah I was kind of thinking NYU was more of a high match, and BU was a low match :S
That's also what Princeton Review and Cappex told me, while they place Northwestern at a high match. But I wanted your guys' opinions as well! NYU's average act is 28/29-31, while Northwestern is 29-33...oy.

So if I'm applying to Gallatin (as opposed to Tisch or Stern...), will that help me?
