Brown notifications - When?

correct, both nspeds and gonsenheim received forced decisions due to other commitments.

Why would you guys feel like Penn will be decent this year? That seems completely arbitrary, especially since they received 20 percent more applicants than last year.

That makes sense now. Thanks.

In general, I wish transfer notification deadlines were concrete like they were with freshman admissions!

Me too carrot, me too. I'm getting really anxious, and I can't focus on my studies.

i hear you meyer1b i have dedicated less time to studies more time to this thread and checking my status

yeah, seriously nosx.

timberland - how do you know applicants are up at Penn this year?

Has anyone gotten into Brown so far through a forced decision?

so i just talked to Brown admissions and they will be mailing the decisions this Friday sending them to our mailing addresses (so school, not home, for most of us, i guess..). they won't email them, and won't give them over the phone at least for the first week since the mailings.

zuzankao, thanks for calling, but you might be giving out false info about mailing addresses. i put this on the yale thread too: decisions will be mailed to whatever address that you listed as your home address, not your school address. so, unless you commute or you listed your school address twice, decisions will go home!

okay, clarification. here is what the app says above Home Mailing Address: All Brown correspondence (including all admission decision letters) dated after May 15th will be mailed to this address. Friday is the 12th, so it's cutting it close, but i guess that means it's going to the school address.

that is not true. it is the exact reason why i called, because i'm an international student and wanted to make sure the decision would be mailed to my permanent (home address), since my mail isn't forwarded from the school i'm now attending. both brown and yale gave me the same answer, which is that the decisions are mailed this friday and will be sent to your mailing address (school address if you live on campus).

YES! Brown notified me today. My package is waiting at their storage facility. They will attempt to redeliver it tomorrow. Finally, after all this wait it has arrived.

zuzankao, by mailing address do you mean home mailing address? on the app you had to put a school mailing address for correspondence during the semester and a home mailing address for correspondence in may. did you see my corrected post? the app said it will go to the school address if sent before the 15th.

Also, did Yale say decisions were going out on Friday?

wait, the madden bus, how do you know that? what address did they try to deliver it to, school or home?

madden: package? does that mean you got in?

yes, yale did say the decisions were going out this friday. and by mailing address i mean the school address. both brown and yale admissions told me that my decision was being mailed to my school address, but as i said, it might be that they do so only with international students.
both schools are very problematic about giving the decisions over the phone or by email.

Madden, Did U Get Into Brown????

it looks like it..

congrats madden!!!!!!!

LOL. I really didn't intend for that statement to be so ambiguous, it was a play on words. I was referring to the United Parcel Service (what can Brown do for you), not Brown University. Why would Brown University keep an acceptance package at a storage facility?

i don't get it, how does just one decision (based on this thread) go out? also, does it get fedexed or something? how can the mail get redelivered?
