Brown or Dartmouth

Hi, I was admitted to both Dartmouth and Brown. I intend to major in Psychology. I am not very sporty, or the heavy partying kind. Which one do you think I should choose, and why? thanks!

Do you want to live in a cute small town surrounded by mountains and trees? Or do you want to live in an urban environment in a small city?

Do you want the traditional two semester year, or Dartmouth’s quarter system?

While I am sure there are plenty of non-sporty non-partying types at Dartmouth, the reputation of the school is that it is heavier on those qualities. Although, please define sporty – while Brown students do not attend football games in droves, the students tend to be in good shape and make good use of the fitness facilities.

I know nothing about psychology at Dartmouth. Brown has changed its psych department a bit, merging it with Cognitive Science and Linguistics. http://www.brown.edu/Departments/CLPS/. Brand new gorgeous rehabbed building.

I would closely examine my reactions to my first two questions. It really is a rare person who would be happy in both the Dartmouth and Brown surroundings.

@fireandrain Thanks a lot for that input. By sporty, I mean actively athletic (as in matches) etc. I think Brown is the place for me!
