Spanish teacher: 7/10 did well, but didn’t know me well enough personally

Unhooked applicant.

I’m not sure how I should feel about this, since I’m an Asian male, and my ECs are reinforcing the stereotype. Then again, my EC’s are math-CS, which relates to what I want to study, but they might not be that outstanding. The biggest part I’m concerned about is my test scores. I can never get it right because I do badly on 1 section each time  and it’s too late to retake. Other people around me who are also applying to top schools tell me I’m okay, but I am still really concerned about the 24 despite it not being included in the superscore. On top of that, Brown doesn’t recalculate the composite, so I’m at a further disadvantage in standardized testing.

What are your thoughts? Thanks.

I think that you shouldn’t worry about stereotyping; your ECs are amazing and obviously you’re very dedicated. Your standardized test scores fall in the normal range, even if they’re a little low. I’m not sure about that essay, because it seems a little cliché, but otherwise your academics and ECs are great. I think you have a decent chance; just remember that the applicant pool for Ivies is extremely selective. Best of luck!
