Wow, that site has all kinds of screwed up math.

We admit ~2000 students, but we only expect ~1500/year to matriculate.

Where the hell did they get their numbers?

What is a 180 on the SAT? Even more importantly, what’s a 180 on the ACT?!

What? “be admitted to a Brown or a Brown” This looks like an auto-filled CSS form based on a search query. As in, the article has a field <collegename> wherever Brown appears, and depending on your search (for some subset of elite-ish colleges, likely), it just fills in that name.</collegename>

This is clearly a for-profit website whose goal is to get you to sign up by making it sound like you’ll significantly boost your chances fo getting itno ANY college by registering for their site.

They make the claim that the average SAT/ACT score (using their crazy scale) is 152. Apparently, we accept 12% of applicants with a 152. Meaning anyone who is average (NOT in terms of our applicants, but in terms of national averages BEFORE our self-selection) has a greater percent chance of getting in than our acceptance rate.
