Wow, so many people applying!
I applied. Started a thread in another section of this site before I saw this, though. How’d your app go?
I’m glad someone responded finally. My application went well, but there is still one of my transcripts that is not checked off. There is also another application started called 2018 Special, but I never started that and don’t know what it’s about. Is it like that for you when you sign in?

I only have ‘2018 RUE’ as an in-progress application.
They’re ‘missing’ a transcript, but it’s just a highschool equivalency exam (texas’s version of a GED I guess?). I didn’t see a place to submit it except in the miscellaneous documents, and I can’t request they send Brown their own copy, so I’m a bit nervous about that. But, from what I’ve heard, they’ll reach out for more documents if they’re interested in you, so, fingers crossed? I also contacted the RUE adviser but haven’t heard back all month.
BTW, I’m not military. I do believe they strongly encourage military applicants, and may even show some preferential treatment toward them, but it’s definitely not an exclusive thing. I think. Haha, I haven’t really had a chance to talk to anyone in the program or anything, I’m just doing tons of anxious research online.
You are right that they definitely encourage and give preferential treatment to military applicants. As disappointing as this may seem to us, (I’m not military either), it’s only fair to them for serving the country. I had the same question, and I asked them too and haven’t heard back. I would like to know if they are mostly looking for military applicants.
I had my official GED transcripts sent to them, but it’s not on the checklist so I’m just assuming they got it. I am feeling anxious as well. It is hard not knowing if you are a strong applicant or weak applicant.

I’m hoping for linguistics/comp sci, but I’m undecided. I’ll see what ‘clicks’ in the first year and go from there. I’d hate to be too rigid and lose out on the perfect path, you know?
