Brown/RISD Dual Degree

has any international students been accepted?

so the RISD application is due monday…
and I just found out that it’s prez day that day so even if I do finish my apps it’ll be considered late…
but im still debating on whether or not i should apply.
I feel like i wont even get accepted to brown,
but I hate not even trying…

let’s say I dont apply but do get accepted to brown,
can I still take classes at RISD, like night classes or summer programs?
I really want to get an ivy league education,
but I also really want to study apparel design,
risd-brown was my dream school for 3 years now,
but I feel like there’s no way of getting in, especially since my SAT scores suck, and my porfolio is not very strong either…

any suggestions? … i only have two days left.

hey me too! I think that yes, you can take classes in the RISD even if you only get accepted into brown, but I hear the scheduling is a pain, since one of them is semestered and the other one is trimestered or something along that line.

hey, i got an email containing this:
ATTENTION FRESHMAN APPLICANTS: Due to weather circumstances around the
east coast and Monday being a mail holiday, we will be accepting materials
all of next week. You MUST have all of the required credentials in our
office by Friday, February 26th. NOTE: This is NOT a post-mark deadline.

As your credentials arrive in the Admissions Office, they will be noted and
placed in your application folder. If any materials are missing from your
file, I will send you an email reminder as your deadline approaches. Please
remember to include your first and last name on your documents and materials
that you send to Admissions.

so i guess you still have a bit of time =)

did anyone else get that email because I never got it…
maybe I should apply…
i gave up on it again this morning,
but this kinda brings up my hopes agin.
erggg…
i hate being so whimsical

o and does RISD offer financial aid/scholarships for international students?

i know some schools give financial aid to canadian-international students, but I wasnt sure about RISD…

Brown/RISD Mom: You said that your daughter heard back from Brown-RISD in the middle of May- is this when all of the Brown-RISD decisions were sent out, or was your daughter an exception? It seems like a horribly long time to wait!!

This program sounds amazing. what do you think of my chances?

All A’s and B+s. Our school grading system is hard too, A is 94-100, B+ is 90 to 93.
High Honors.

As for art, I’ve taken classes outside of school since 3rd grade and obviously in school too. School art awards.

Thanks!

My daughter is interested in this program. She has a few more years before she applies. Your daughter must be ready to graduate. How did she like the program? How did she like RISD and Brown? Was the admissions process to be admitted more or less or the same competitiveness as to be admitted to Brown outside the combined program? Whatever info you can share would be appreciated. Thanks

This Program is still young and growing. I and others are interested in hearing how those in and applying for the program are responding.

Thanks
