Brown Short answer Q

One of Brown's short answer questions is "Why are you drawn to the academic fields you indicated in the Anticipated Degree and Academic Interest questions above?" (1000 char)

Now, it asks this after asking you to list five Academic choices. Does the question mean i have to explain all of my choices or can i just talk about my #1 choice?

The "s" in "academic fields" is making me lean towards explaining them all, but how can i do this with only 1000 characters?

I don’t think you are obligated to talk about them all, but you have the option of incorporating more than one into your answer, if you so choose. It might be a good idea to include at least two of them. Better to explain a field of interest fully than give short shrift to all five.

Actually, perhaps there is a common thread in all your choices- ? Eg, you want a research career or want to improve lives around the globe? Or, you love math and each potential field requires math skills? Don’t forget the Open Curriculum will allow you to dip your toe into many waters before settling on a concentration.

What if I put undecided?
I really have no idea what would be my potential concentration… I do well in math/science like most of the asians do (lol) but not so sure about my love of humanities would really make me major in it… One thing I’m sure is that I enjoy learning and want to explore. That’s why I love Brown’s open curriculum.
What should I write about. =[
