I’ve been working on supplemental essays for colleges and I just finished Brown’s 100 word essay of, “Tell us where you have lived – and for how long – since you were born; whether you’ve always lived in the same place, or perhaps in a variety of places.”

I hope this doesn’t come off as rude in any way because that’s really not my intention, but I’m hoping to have someone who isn’t a rising senior look over it. FYI - Brown has not committed to using the same supplemental essays for this coming year. Today when we called their admissions office they said that 2-3 essays would probably change.
Oh haha ok. I totally get it. I’m applying to Brown (probably ED), so, now that I think about it, it’s probably better if I didn’t read it over. Good luck!

@curlypie99 I’d be happy to read it if it turns out they repeat those essays. My son will be going to Brown this fall and I remember thinking how difficult to use 100 words and make an impact.
I’m going to Brown this year and feel like I had a unique response to that particular question. I can read yours over and give you some perspectives.

@janjmom So they said 2-3 of the 4 essays for Brown will definitely change? I really wish they released these prompts earlier in the summer. We reached out to a few schools to find out if the prompts were changing or not and haven’t heard back.
Brown has a new director of admissions. All bets are off as to whether the essays will stay the same. In the last decade, they seem to change every 3 years or so – I most definitely would not assume that any of the prompts used last year will be used again this year. And Brown has never been prompt in releasing its essays. I know that’s not what any of you want to hear, but that’s the way it is.
My guess is that Brown would urge you to relax and have fun this summer, and spend your time doing something other than writing college essays.
@fireandrain I’m trying to get a lot done before senior year starts because I’m going to have a really heavy workload and I don’t want to be overwhelmed, but thank you for letting me know!
Does anyone know if the new prompts have been released yet by Brown? I know that 2-3 of them will change this year. August 1 is only 7 days away, but would love to get them started this week!
