The brown supplement is another few essay questions that appears on the common application usually by mid august… Am I right? Tell me if I’m wrong please!!

Do you think they will be these same questions from previous years? How long should they be each?

Tell us about the academic areas which interest you most and your reasons for applying to Brown.

Who interested you in Brown?

In reading your application we want to get to know you as well as we can. We ask that you use this opportunity to tell us something more about yourself that would help us toward a sense of who you are, how you think, and what issues and ideas interest you most.

2 of the questions will have character limits on Common App, so they will guide the length.

The actual long essay should be 500 words or so. Probably not longer than 500. That’s plenty of room to make your point (and not bore the readers). I’d say the same applies for the Common App essay too.

Question 1 and 2 will be on the supplement.

Question 3 no longer exists and has been replaced by the Common Ap essay.

Last year there was another 500 word essay on the supplement. I don’t remember the exact wording – it was something like “Discuss an academic experience, class book that influenced you.” Last year was the first year that essay was included – we’ve had no indication yet whether it will be asked again, if another question will be asked instead, or if there will be no other supplemental essay.
