Hey so I am very interested in applying to Brown’s PLME. Along with your 2 teacher recommendations do you also need a recommendation from your guidance counselor, because I do have a relationship with my guidance counselor? Also if accepted into the PLME do you have to take any specific classes during undergrad? Also do you have to take the MCAT? Thanks!

you need material from your guidance counselor in the form of the school report (which will have a section from the counselor, but that's paperwork that you need for Brown even if you aren't applying PLME)

for undergrad, I believe we'll need to take several required courses (at least one semester of orgo, basic lab sciences, etc) that resemble the typical premed track without being as intensely biology-oriented. Does someone else have the specifics here? because I'm a little curious myself

and no MCAT! just keep your GPA above a 3.0 in undergrad and you'll be set

My son's a PLME and I think the requirements changed beginning with last year's class. You can find the details on PLME website under academic handbook. In general, you need to take so many "pre-req" classes to show competency in Bio, Chem, Physics and Math (also social sciences, behavioral sciences and writing). Brown does not require a specific GPA but "satisfactory" progress is expected. For instance, you are required to take 3 bio courses (2 if skipping the intro class, the other two you get to choose) and get an A or B in them. Although you don't need to maintain a "3.0", Brown can issue academic warnings and probation. I just don't know the particulars.

If you go to Brown's PLME website, you can find all the details.
