Brown Transfer App Question

<p>On the Brown Transfer app you have to specify whether you'd like to be considered for admission for the fall or spring semester.</p>

<p>It then asks, "If you are not admitted to the semester of your choice, would you like to be considered for the alternate semester?</p>

<p>I'm applying for the fall semester, but will answering yes to the afformentioned question lessen my chances of admission in the fall? It seems like a gamble to me. I feel that answering yes may weaken my chances as a fall transfer, but answering no seems like I'm decreasing my chances of acceptance alltogether.</p>

<p>This one's a toughie, huh?. Anyone know for sure?</p>

<p>statistically very few of the applicants who apply for fall will be "just barely not good enough to enroll in the fall" and bumped to the spring. You likely won't be one of them, and thus shouldn't base your decision on that scenario.</p>
