Brown Transfer Waitlist 2020 thread

Waitlisters unite! Starting a thread for people that were waitlisted this transfer cycle!

Waitlisted last year, and now again this year. I wonder if this will be a more promising year for waitlist candidates if a lot of current students decide to take a semester or year off. What are people thinking?

Hey @finallysomeluck I saw you posted on the brown transfer thread and you said that you were accepted, so are you currently waitlisted or accepted?

oh my bad i thought this was for Harvard.

Very sorry for any confusion. I mistakenly commented in this thread?

I got waitlisted last week

Where do you guys go to school now

I think that this is a good year to be on the wait list, or at least we have a better shot than normal, because so many freshman are deferring, and a lot of current students may take a year off too. But do we know when they decide to take more first years from the waitlist vs transfers? and how likely do we think it is?

Just noticed this—this could affect waitlist movement…

“Unlike other colleges, Brown has no enrollment deposit.”

https://admission.brown.edu/transfer/calendar

How does Brown “confirm” which students are “committed” to Brown if there’s no deposit? I realize that some people will walk away from a school even with a deposit payment…

@gs123456 @havingfunismy @brownguardias where are you guys committing to in the meantime?

The email said 2-20 have been admitted in past years. I haven’t been able to find posts from any CC users who got in for recent years. Doesn’t look too good for us :frowning:

what’s up everybody! waitlisted sophomore applicant from Ohio State. sent in my LOCI and am keeping all of my fingers crossed-- hoping it’s a good year to be on the waitlist. good luck to all

in the meantime, are you all planning to accept transfer offers to other colleges or remain at your current school?
