I just called Brown and found out I was accepted as a junior year transfer!!! Any one else have good news?

I don't have the heart to call...I guess they mailed the envelopes Friday?

sarah, i know this is annoying...but do you mind sharing stats or anything? did you apply for finaid?

im still waiting to hear..also where do you live?

I called; got accepted. I guess I'd be seeing a lot of you if I didn't by some miracle get accepted to Columbia. Anyway, good luck to the rest.

I didn't know they'd give out answers over the phone... I'm thinking I got rejected and I'm not sure I have the heart to call and find out..

Congratulations to those of you that got in!

my mom said i got a letter from them today. but i won't know what it says until probably wednesday when it gets here in my mailbox. (i would rather wait an extra two days than have my mother read the decision before i do). hehe. oh well--guaranteed rejection, my EFC is 0 dollars

accepted! but for the spring....which...is a bummer...

do you think there's any chance I could go in the fall if i ask nicely?

Did you apply for fall? I'm so nervous my mail hasn't come yet.

i said I would take either..
now im really mad at myself for not just saying fall. gees.

you think theyd let me go in the fall anyway? i would hate to go back to NYU. HATE.

Hey, congratulations! I learned of my acceptance over the phone as well; no letter yet, I live in the boonies so I expect it will be here tomorrow. In any case: HUZZAH! See you next year!

Red, I'm sorry you didn't get your term of choice. But, you got in! I would maybe talk to Brown about it; they clearly want you, so I'm sure it was more of a space thing. Give it a shot, in any case. If it doesn't work out, hopefully the idea of KNOWING YOU WILL BE GOING TO BROWN IN THE SPRING will make your last semester at NYU much more bearable. I know I would have settled for either because I wanted Brown so badly - and I hate my school as well, so I can understand where you're wanting to get out IMMEDIATELY. Good luck either way.

thanks so much : )

Accepted sophmore

did anyoen get any stats in the letter you recieved about how many were accepted and how many applied?

800 applied for 150 spots

However US News says that there were 768 applications last year, but the admissions woman who told me 800 but said that they had had 25% more applications this year, so I dont know who to believe. I would put it as about a 20% admissions rate for transfer for this year.

I got in, woohoo!
Congrats to everyone else!

is anyone declining the offer?

red- why did u hate nyu so much?

I was expecting both Cornell and Brown's decision today, appearently it takes longer for mails to go from rhode island to CA, since i only got Cornell today.

girlygrl
ohhhhhhh. man. ive been ripping on NYU alot lately. i think its more of a personal thing. I had a pretty bad housing situation with roommate problems and all and im from a super suburb in the south which made adjusting especially difficult for me.

i know many people who speak highly of NYU. I also know alot that dont like it but i mean..such is the case with all schools.

i think you'll make it into tufts though. you're #! school...if that isnt the case, definitely feel free to ask me more questions. im happy to offer my opinion on NYU.
