Brown University...Again.

You have many extracurricular activities, which is great.

Brown is unpredictable - but your ECs are very interesting and varied indeed. You do have a shot - focus on other intangibles such as essays and interviews.

Thanks guys…I’m just worried…I wish I either got rejected or accepted back in December so I had some closure. Being deferred builds anticipation and mixed feelings >.< You neither have the numbness of rejection or the euphoria of an acceptance. -.-

bump bump bump

I would not accept you if I were an admission officer in the program. Not a single science your senior year and no research going on right now. Programs like PLME and other premed tanks want to see a passion for medical research. It’s not just there.

I think you have a great app for regular old Brown or any number of other schools, but your ACT scores are not at the tippy top, and you are not a top gun for natural sciences or med. Med school won’t care if you major in the sciences, but to get into a top premed program, a top rated science pursuit is usually sought. Yes, I have a bit of a background in this and so it’s not just my personal opinion.

…sorry I took all the science offered before my senior year started…and the research on the fruit flies is still going on…sorry I guess I should have been more specific  Thanks for your opinion, though.

@cpofthehouse, What did you mean by “you are not a top gun for natural sciences or med”?

Why did I bother applying -.-
Thanks for your help guys…I’ll just await that rejection in April…smh facepalm.

I really think you have a chance. You are not a shoo-in, but I think you are near the top of the deferred pool. Your app will probably one of the ones reviewed by the admissions committee as a whole. At that point, who can predict what will happen?

Your fate at this point depends on whether or not there is someone in Brown admissions willing to fight on your behalf. I hope this helps :)>-

My thread, if you’re up for it: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1611003-chance-specifically-for-princeton-ea-next-year-will-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

Just commented on your’s @intentando :)

Looks like a legit application. Better than mine fasho, lol.
I’d have to say low reach? Were all the classes you listed taken at your high school or some online?

I would say Brown is a low-reach for u as a deferred applicant.
Your test scores are right in range, and your ECs are decent, but Brown is after all an Ivy - there will be challenges.

Good luck though!

Honors Calculus, AP Human Geography–these were the only classes I took online
Honors Algebra II was taken over the summer at a different high school.

And thanks guys!

Good news! Made it into UNC Chapel Hill.

I think you definitely have a shot (at least a lot more of one than I would applying to Brown) that being said, ivies are the definition of a crapshoot. You never know kids with perfect stats get rejected. Bu your application is impressive and would not be surprised if you got in at all!

Chance me back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1611821-chance-me-for-u-mich.html</a></p>

Does your class rank play a big part in your chances?
In my opinion, you’ve got a shot, if you keep things up, why not.

depending on your recommendations, I say it is a low reach. It is an ivy after all. However, your ecs are very good. a

I agree with @mcknight95 you honestly never know with ivies, but you are definitely a competitive applicant! It’s great that you can maintain such a high GPA with such a rigorous courseload. Good luck!
