Hie guys. I’m applying to Brown and I was wondering what the RD pool is looking like. Could y’all pleas post your stats and interests thanks

Interested in biochemistry/molecular biology.

Country (State): Korean applicant currently living in Thailand.

SAT: 2300 (CR: 800, M:770, W:730) Yes. I’m Asian and I got a perfect score on CR, but not a perfect score on the M… -___-;;;

SAT II: World-800, Math 2-740, Biology-M taken in January

GPA: 3.9+

AP’s: 5’s in World History, Calc AB, 3 in Stats, Biology and Chemistry this year

Common App Essay: Great. Got it proofread more than 10 times by at least 7 different people and they said that the essay was the best essay they have ever read.

Rec’s: Both teacher ones were great. GC one is probably generic.

EC:Many, but focused primarily in MUN and reaching out to underprivileged communities.

Best of luck to all!

GPA: 3.70 UW (yeah, I know); 4.5-ish W
ACT: 34/34 (35/35 E; 36/34 M; 32/32 R; 31/35 S) - took twice
SAT: 2230 (710 M; 740 CR; 780 W)
APs: 5 on Psych; 4 on Lang (panic attack)
SAT IIs: 730 on Math I; 730 on Lit; 780 on Math II; 620 on Japanese (was sick)
Rank: Around the 10% mark, I think
School caliber: Ranked 700-something out of 22,000 in the U.S.
Course rigor: All honors and AP classes whenever offered
Essays: Very original topics; compelling writing style (so I’ve been told)
ECs: President of two clubs; attend a few more; have created and released my own video games; a few other things
Awards: National Merit Finalist; a few local/state awards
Recs: One spectacular; one decent

Intended major: Computer science (aspiring video game designer)
Gender: Male
Race: Not specified
Religion: Not specified

I’m not feeling optimistic, but who knows.

GPA: 3.75 UW; 4.47 W
SAT: 2270 (740 M; 750 CR; 780 W)
APs: Took French, Calc AB, Chem, Bio, Lang, and US Govt. All 5s.
SAT IIs: 800s on Math II, Bio, and Chem. 700 on French w/o listening.
Rank: School does not rank
School caliber: Competitive public school. Nationally ranked, ~600 students in my class.
Course rigor: Rigorous - all honors and APs (except when not offered)

Essays: I was quite proud of my CommonApp essay. My cousin, who offered to edit my essays, handed them back to me with no changes. He said they were the best essays he’d seen, and he does this kind of thing fairly often.
However, the Brown app was long and torturous. I might have lost focus a few times. Hopefully it still turned out well.

ECs: Equestrian Team (JV Team, 9-11 ; V Team, 12)
Forensics Club (9-12, Officer for the past two years)
French Honor Society (10-12, Officer last year)

Founded a political discussion club along with some friends this year

Awards: National Merit Finalist
AP Scholar w/ Distinction
School’s Signature Program for students interested in STEM fields
Honor Roll (only wrote that because the awards section looked empty, haha)

Recs: I actually have no idea. Both of those teachers like me, so I’m hoping they were OK. But I really don’t know.
GC has no idea who the hell I am.

Interview: I think it went well! My interviewer was really helpful; she even emailed me afterwards with more detailed answers to some of the questions I asked. We had a good conversation.

Intended major: Biology
Gender: Female
Race: Asian

My motto is “Hope for the best, but expect the worst.”
I keep telling myself I’m not going to be accepted. That way, if by some miracle they admit me, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
But they’re not going to admit me. My GPA is low, my ECs are meh, and the acceptance rate is hovering around 10%.
Good luck to everyone else!

There is way too high a viewer-to-poster ratio here. C’mon, people, post your stats here and let us gaze.

Intended major: Political Science and Literary Arts (eventually law school)
Gender: Female
Race: White

I really want to get into this school but right now I’m just taking everything lightly and hoping for the best. I’ve got the ec’s and the recommendations but my academics kind of dropped as I got more involved with things at school. I hope we can all be a part of the class of 2017 at Brown. Good luck everyone!

Just had my interview with the coolest lady ever. Interestingly, she said she has to choose between Brown and Yale, the latter being my top choice. Interesting to see her perspective on that!

I had an interview as well and got 780/800 on the Bio M SAT II.

I had my interview as well. I must say the interviewer just made Brown seem like the most uninspiring school in the world.

@ChavXO
Really? I’m sorry that your interview did not leave a good impression of Brown to you.

My interview on the other hand went great. Loved my interviewer. I provided information that I forgot to put in the supplement so that was good as well.

Hi im also applying to Brown. A teacher who wrote me a recommendation for my extracurricular was sent a letter from Brown saying thank you for writing the recommendation. I have never heard of that before. Is that done routinely at Brown?

I’m applying. My interview was perfection.

Not posting stats bc pathetic and I don’t feel like being judged today.
^▁^

Interview: It went really well! My interviewer was the coolest 78-year-old ever, and she made me look up a one-legged-tap dancer after my interview.

Intended major: Studio Art and Sociology
Gender: Female
Race: White

It’s a long shot for anyone, but I’m super worried about my rank and GPA. Best of luck to all of us!

Omgomgomgomg.

What are you "omg"ing about? I’m sure your stats are absolutely fine! Plus, Brown stresses the importance of essays, recs, and rigor, even if the numbers aren’t great! (Which is why I continue to hold out hope haha)

Aw, I really hope so. >_<

This whole process has me on edge alllllll the time.

We are all relying on a whollistic review. My stats aren’t stellar but my EC’s are amazing…and so was my application. Time will tell…27 days to be precise.

I got a likely letter, I’m in Miami, so excited!

^Congrats on the likely!

Mind posting your stats for us?
