Brown University Class of 2017 RD official thread

I got a likely too, in Vancouver, WA! Really excited :)

Do you guys think the major you put on your application is binding? I put Human Bio and I’m kinda having other thoughts now :P

What part of “Open Curriculum” did you not understand, pandapocalypse?

Thank you Opaline, I’m not quite sure if this is what you’re interested in, but here’s an overview. lol

GPA: 4.000 UW; 6.333 W
SAT: 1950 (740 M; 600 CR; 610 W)
APs: all passed with a 5 or 4, around 8 classes, also AICE courses.
SAT IIs: 760 on Math I; 790 on Math II; 700 on Physics
Rank: Around top 1%
School caliber: Public?
Course rigor: All honors and AP classes whenever offered
Essays: Very original topics, my first thoughts were what I wrote on. Very elaborate and two were funny. lol
ECs: Many leadership positions, opened up clubs, organized local tutoring program. Also, swimming and water polo.
Awards: Published poem, many regional/state, AP scholar with distinction, and others…
Recs: GREAT, I read them and I was stunned by their pulchritude.
Interview: Great too, we spent two hours going over philosophical concepts and human inefficiency.

Intended major: Engineering.
Gender: Male
State: FL
Race: Hispanic/Cuban

Sorry :stuck_out_tongue: I figured if certain majors like the engineering ones required additional essays, it’d be hard to declare them as your major once you got in. My bad :P

does a 2040 SAT score 640 Molecular Bio and 700 American History put me out of the race?
I have a perfect average for 12 grade and almost perfect for 11th 9,81/10 . Hoping for the hollistic view what do you think
internatioal btw

I shouldn’t think so but it makes Brown a bit of a reach. Decisions next week…so we’ll find out.
