Why not just agree to the interview?
@TheSearchIsReal @paveyourpath @fireandrain lol. I obviously didn’t just say “no”, but I like to remain anonymous on this website and so I tried to reveal as little as possible. I had a very valid reason considering he asked me to interview a few hours before the requested time slot. After declining, I contacted the undergraduate admissions office to show my continued interest and regret for the lost opportunity to interview, and they extended the deadline interviewing later this week.
Anyone know how Brown notifies you of their decision? E-mail, mail, or what?
@PinkQuetzal9 just check the portal at 5 EST on March 30th.
I literally just created my Brown account. I thought I’d already made it, but no. So like a month late in creation. Will it look bad that I created it so late? I honestly thought I’d already made it!
@PinkQuetzal9 I don’t think it makes any difference as long as your app is complete with all materials submitted
Has anyone gotten a likely letter or heard of someone getting one?
Nope. I think likely letters come out around March 1st. That’s what I’ve been reading anyway.
@PinkQuetzal9 Can you explain the “likely letters” in the RD round? I thought they only were given to ED applicants. Are they for athletes or other talents who didn’t get accepted in ED round?
Likely letters are only given to recruited athletes in the ED round. While there may be a stray likely letter given to an athletic recruit in the RD round, for the most part, the likelies issued in the RD round will be issued to a very very select few non-athletes which Brown highly desires.
Do you guys think it is too late to send in an additional letter if rec to Brown? I was thinking about asking my senior year English teacher to write me one. If he does, would he send it straight to my regional rep, or how would it work?
^^^^^ also curious about this
Yeah… I guess not. Has anyone ever heard of a deferred candidate later receiving a likely letter? I definitely don’t expect one considering I was deferred myself. And even if I wasn’t, they’re only given out to top applicants.
@ap012199 if they were going to send an applicant a likely letter, they probably would have deferred him or her. Just guessing. I am not an AO, just a humble student like you.
^^^^
@ap012199 I read somewhere that Dartmouth has sent out likely letters to their deferred applicants in the past if that helps.
For those of you who took the new sat, what were your scores? I know i know its pointless to panic after apps are done im just curious
@parisgeller a 1510 regular but a 1530 superscored. I stopped taking the SAT because I thought 1500+ was good enough, but a lot of people have been saying that the magic number is 1550
@lhw1998 1500 is definitely good enough for Brown. According to a Forbes article that lists the smartest schools, Brown’s average new SAT score is 1440.
