Still no interview request. I’ve had interviews for 4 other Ivies but haven’t heard from Brown or Columbia yet
^same, I applied to all the Ivies but Dartmouth. And I got an interview request from only one (Harvard).
Dang why’d you guys apply to so many?? I applied to two and I only applied to one of the two cuz I have legacy there… They all seem so different. It seems very unlikely to like all of them enough to apply to 6+
@ap012199 The theory behind applying to all the Ivies is that the more you apply to, the higher your chances of getting an acceptance from at least one. This theory is very faulty, but it holds up for some people (a very select few) because they might catch a specific admissions officer’s eye.
@ap012199 I applied to two as well: Yale and Brown! I agree that it sounds strange to like all of these schools enough to waste all that money applying, but I suppose if I had that money to waste I would probably do the same because why not? Regardless my hopes aren’t high for either seeing as Yale deferred me (a nice gesture, I was expecting a rejection!) and my Brown essays never completely “clicked” with me. I only liked around half of them, and I know I only would’ve stood a chance if my essays were incredible, so ah well.
@ap012199 I applied to most of them because I really like them (however different they may be), but I applied to Harvard only because of financial aid and location (<3 Cambridge) and Penn because my entire family is crazy about it + we have relatives nearby. Regardless, I’m probably not getting into either because Harvard is Harvard and my Penn application left something to be desired.
umm… hi guys, just a bit confused here, cuz i still haven’t received any email to access my portal… and I have had the interview… a bit weird, isn’t it?!
An interviewer got in touch with me over a week ago and I replied but they haven’t got back to me since…I don’t know whether to send an email back or just wait for them to get back to me?
@JustStressed I’m in the exact opposite situation as you. I received my portal access email over two weeks ago and still have not received any interview request. I wouldn’t worry about it. Be sure to check your spam and trash folders as that is where a couple of my portal activation emails ended up. Worst case, you can set up an account here: https://myaccount.brown.edu/
At what point should I be worried about not receiving an interview request? Does Brown send out a general email stating that you will be contacted soon? If so, I think something might be wrong because two of my friends who applied have already done their interviews.
I just got my interview request… and my interviewer told me it was really late this year, so maybe they’re just running a little bit behind?
I had my interview last week and it went great! She had a list of questions in her hand. The questions were about:
1-Why Brown?
2-If you got acceptance from every school that you applied, how are you going to decide?
3-Do you have any passion?
4-What are you planning to do at college?
5-Do you have any unforgettable abroad experience that changed your life?
She was a lovely alumni! I hope we all get in to Brown
I emailed the admissions office about interviews, and my interviewer contacted me soon after the admissions office replied to my email! So if any of you want interviews, I suggest emailing the admissions office.

Hey guys, did any of your interviewers request you to meet at their home. Mine did and I was just wondering if this was a Brown thing or not.
My daughter’s interview was at the interviewers office.
@MALABARCOAST2014 I had my Harvard interview at the guy’s house. It was actually quite uncomfortable because of that fact, so I would maybe ask to meet at a coffee shop or something instead.
I had my Cornell Architecture interview at my interviewer’s house and it was great!
Starbucks. Thought it was a perfect spot.
My interview was by phone. Really nice lady; I can tell that most of the Brown community is welcoming and amiable.
I haven’t been contacted about an interview yet, should i be worried?
