Hello!
I, along with another classmate, am planning to apply ED to Brown. We basically have the same scores and ECs, yet I might have the slightly higher gpa and a more rigorous course load throughout HS. Will it hurt our chances of acceptance? Is there any possibility that we both get accepted?
Thanks!
Unless you are in a big-name private prep school, the chance that both of you are accepted in ED is slim. If the two of you have very different spikes, the possibility increases.
To be accepted to school at this caliber, it is really helpful to have a spike.
This kid got pulled off wait-list at Princeton, but he basically got rejected from every school he really wants to go. He has a spike – photography. You can learn how things work by watching his videos

He does not need high GPA at Princeton. If he was premed, he made a big mistake.
@tcrf15 : Please read the following two news releases –

I personally know there were several students admitted to Brown from Phillips Academy (Andover) last year.
Usually competitive public high schools only have one or two students admitted to a particular top-tier school per year. This year our district has one admitted ED, one admitted RD. Last year there was only one RD admit. ;
Best of luck to your application to Brown.
@nrtlax33 Thank you so much for responding.
We come from a tiny private school and our graduating senior class is 48 students. I will hope for the best!
