Brown University Transfer with 2.9 GPA

Hello Everyone,

I am currently a Sophomore at John Jay College with 58 credits completed but 71 credits in total with the classes I am registered to take this semester. I attend John Jay College of Criminal Justice majoring in Forensic Science: Molecular Biology. I have a passion for English and Literature so I would like to transfer to Brown University and major in English. Do I have a chance of getting accepted with my GPA?

A Few Extracurricular Activities:

Tutor in English and writing
Intern at the Writing Center at John Jay College
Volunteer SUNY Downstate Medical Center
Intern at Seventeen Magazine

The trnsfr rate is under 10%. Your 2.9 effectively takes you out of viablity, I believe.

Very unlikely.
