Brown university

Hi everyone!

I am a rising senior at a good public school in a highly populated state. My top choice for college is Brown and I'm thinking that I want to apply ED to their PLME med program. My other top choices are Johns Hopkins, and Columbia University.

Okay, so here's the thing, my stats are lower than they should be for a school like Brown, but my extracurriculars are insane. Kay, here it goes:

GPA - weighted 4.21 (unweighted 3.96)
SAT - 2150 superscored (single highest is 2110)
ACT - 32
I've also taken Math II, Biology, and Literature subject tests and done fairly well on them.

As a JUNIOR I took AP calc, AP bio, AP lang, honors american government and economics, honors spanish 4, choir, and music theory.
As a SENIOR I will be taking AP stat, AP physics, AP spanish, AP lit, choir, and either AP macroeconomics or honors global relations.

At school I am involved in student government (I personally started a fundraiser for Moore Public Schools after the tornados), choir, select choral ensembles, I'm a pre-calc and biology tutor, I perform in our biannual coffeehouses, founded our school's Rhetoric Club, and am a member of the national honor society.

Outside of school I volunteer in the pharmacy of my local hospital (about 140 hours so far), am a certified lifeguard and swim instructor, participated in county choir, am a original member of my church youth group and am on the teen leadership board, take singing lessons and do recitals, cantor (sing) masses at my church, and babysit.

This summer I am doing Drexel's Mini-Med program as well as interning at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Company and Columbia University.

Please let me know what you think! I'm really stumped as far as essays go....my background is that my parents both moved to America from India for college, I was born in Texas and lived there until i was 7, then we moved to Pennsylvania. Because of this I feel like I'm a very diverse individual but I don't know how I can make that work for me for a college essay!

Thanks for letting me steal like 10 minutes of your life...or however long it took for you to read all that..! :)

The PLME program at Brown is extremely difficult to get in to. However, you show a lot of interest in medicine. I think you should try to get your SAT to go a little bit higher if you can. Right now Brown is still a reach, but Ivies are always reaches really. Keep trying! (be unique - I know that sounds cliche).

Chance me back?
