So how does Brown compare to other ivies. I know it is the only one to have an open curriculum.

I have decent SAT's (2200) but only a 650 in math and I really want to go there. Most ivy schools only look at numbers because there are so many applicants but does Brown treat applicants the same way?

Brown has an excellent reputation. Like every Ivy, it has its unique features. I am sure Brown admissions is not just about the numbers. They take a wholistic look at every applicant. Special talents and achievements are important.

If your grades and ECs match up with your SATs, you probably have an average/decent change of being accepted. However, I doubt they’ll look at you much differently than Harvard or Dartmouth would. Brown, despite it’s rep as a hippie haven, is still a top-notch academic institution. They want to stay that way, so they’ll accept the best students. But best, as I’m sure you’ve deduced from this site, is a subjective term–they’ll take everything into consideration, and that may get you an acceptance…or it may not. But they’re not less discriminating with their applicants just because they have an open curriculum and students wearing Birkenstocks.
