Okay, so say you had to choose from the list above and you're the type of person who could really be happy in practically any environment. You want to do Pre-Law, with a focus on Public Policy and you have a strong interest in Debate, Theatre, and Activism. Which school would you pick, keeping the following factors in mind?

Brown, W&L : No financial aid/merit scholarship, so you're paying 240K+, and at least 100K of that will have to be in loans.

Davidson, UNC, NYU: All offering enough financial aid/merit scholarship that they're practically financially. Davidson scholarships come with personal relationships with both the Dean and President/access to their networking abilities.

Which would you pick and why? (With the cost of the school being a major concern, since you intend to go to Grad School afterwords and that is also really really expensive)

Typo: W&L is also offering aid, along with UNC and NYU.

Other than Brown, Cost of attendance for all 4 years before the loan? I’d pick UNC if everything else is equal.

UNC and Davidson are close enough to where it’s possible to visit both in the course of two days, or one if you’re feeling ambitious. They are so different that you’ll likely come out with a strong preference for one or the other. Talk to current students, try to sit in on a freshman level course, and just tour the school. NYU is a good option if only you don’t value any sense of a campus although I’d be surprised if that were the case given the inclusion of Davidson, W&L, and Brown.

You can’t afford Brown or W&L.

Well Brown is out. Sorry. I’d pick what appealed to me most. Where do you want to be? You didn’t list the costs on the remaining colleges. NYU giving better aid than Brown? Scholarship then?
