I was really lucky to get into my top choices, but now I am at a complete lost over which to choose. I love them both and I don’t want to make a decision that I’ll regret later on. I plan on majoring in chem/bio/premed. On the financial aid side of things, Brown cost slightly more, but I also live within driving distance to Brown, whereas Rice is a couple hour plane ride. The only big difference between the two school is that one is more researched focused, while Brown is way more liberal, but I just can’t decide which is better.
Have you visited both? I assume you have visited Brown, since you live so close. But what about Rice?
@confusedgirl5 It would seem to me going to something like owl days would help you decide if you have not visited. My son is going on the 12. The way brown does its classes is different than Rice. If you sat in classes it would help. Also hopefully your on the Rice group me you can get a feel for what the students are like. I do think visiting is important. When we visited Rice the people were so friendly and helpful. It was the first day of school. even the instructors were helpful and talkative. You would not get this unless you visited. Though I did hear Rice is know for its pre med 90% rate. People have said when they go to medical school it is a cake walk compared to the time at rice. Plus the medical center is very close to the school.
visit both if you live in the us!
