Yeah I don’t think they are giving out any more spots.
All but one new member are boys.
Out of 695 ED admitted students, 411 are female and 284 are male.
I don’t think we can go entirely off Facebook activity. I did some “research” and someone was added one week ago. But when I went to this person’s Facebook page he was congratulated on Brown admission on March 30th. Just because he was added a week ago doesn’t make him a waitlist candidate. Probably chances are low for us to get off the list, but we can’t say never until we hear back for sure. Hang in everyone!
I’ve sent multiple emails to my regional counsellor and the admissions office, over the last week, enquiring whether they’re still going to use the waitlist or not, but I still haven’t received any reply. I fail to understand why we can’t be notified of our decisions via our online portal, and rather must wait for snail mail. ugh.
@Hamshank They are using the waitlist to offer a “small number of spots” but they are not disclosing whether the first wave last week was the last wave.
Does anyone know if more people will come off the waitlist this week?
About to pull my name off the waitlist. Best of luck, everyone!
DD even said the other day that although this is her dream school, she has been chatting with some frosh at UCB on Facebook and she’s ready to move on if denied. Good luck to everyone on this thread!
@nycc99 It looks that you are on the same waitlists as my daughter, Brown and JHU.
@nycc99 @pdxtigermom so am I! I’ve been trying to get in touch with the admissions office this last week, but still no response.
I already sent in an update with my continued interest letter shortly after I accepted my spot on the waitlist.
But, my team just finished as runners up in the state championship and I broke at 17 year old school record. Think it’s too late for me to send in another update?
@HPhelpbot123 I think it’s too late to send in any updates. The process is near end. If it’s not meant to be, then just go on with your life. I personally want to thank Brown and JHU, I’ve lost 20 lbs in the past two months because I’ve been constantly worried about my daughter’s future. Sometimes you just try too hard and worry too much that you forget to enjoy your everyday life.
@HPhelpbot123 I’d personally go for it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain
It’s only too late if you’ve received a rejection. A university’s decision is never final until the notification is sent out.
Hi guys, so I am one of the int. students on the waitlist and I am currently out of town, I checked last year’s waitlist forum and as far as I noticed a lot of people got their acceptances/rejections through mail and their portal hadn’t changed at all until late June or something. Can some1 confirm this? The wait is killing me and I am out of country travelling so I dont know if something arrived in the mail…
@BrKmNk The portal hasn’t changed for anyone. I, personally, have not received any written communication yet.
Has the second wave happened already?
@Whaffle not sure but there has been significant Facebook activity in the admitted student group today.
@nycc99 it could possibly be students from the first wave joining the group… don’t they have a week or so to accept their offer and FA award, so maybe they aren’t admitted until they confirm?
