Where are you guys attending if Brown WL doesn’t pan out?
Bu or northeastern, you?
I was planning to attend Cornell, but after visiting it, I realized I could not live there for 4 years. Did not like the environment at all. So now I’m going to UC Davis. Cheapest option and I love the campus.
I literally got wait listed at both Brown and UChicago and didn’t get accepted anywhere else since I didn’t really apply to many schools. I’m probably not getting off the waitlist at neither since I’m an international student requesting financial aid. I don’t know what to do in my life next. Also I don’t wanna take a gap year since I lost a year already due to circumstances.
What are the top universities in your home country ?
I’m choosing between UCLA and Amherst, but I’m not sure what I would do if I get off the waitlist lol Brown has open-curriculum, but so does Amherst!
@Chrchill There’s this Boğaziçi University -I live in Turkey- but they don’t have computer science as a major of studying. Even If I wanted to apply and major in computer engineering, this school receives literally millions of applicants every year and the last one they wanna admit is an Iraqi student.
I wish I got into Amherst! I was rejected by pretty much all my schools, but was luck to get into a CUNY. I’m praying everyday to get into Brown.
UF honors I’m really happy about it - it’s by FAR the cheapest option. I wish I could just hear back from these waitlists already so I could move on with my life

The physical submission process is probably different now (e.g. on-line vs. mail) but the general stuff has to still be the same.
wait so just to be clear, we upload updates into the portal submission form but we have to email our letters of continued interest to our admissions counselors?
I thought the waitlist for Brown is not ranked? The only school I know that is ranked on their waitlist is UPenn.
Would it be wise to put my financial situation in my LOCI? I’m worried about even going to college since I have to pay 50,000 a year for every school I got in, meaning i’ll have to take a gap year. However, I don’t think they are need-blind for waitlist, so i’m mixed if I should add this or not.
My guess is no. They definitely weren’t need blind for the waitlist in 2005, not sure about now.
Hey guys, I’m guessing we don’t receive a financial aid letter until after we are pulled off the waitlist. I heard that the amount of aid given to waitlist students is significantly lower than aid given to the rest. Does anybody know that for a fact?
Hi everyone! I was waitlisted at Brown as well as at a few other schools. From the looks of it, Brown started offering waitlist spots as early as May 10 last year. We don’t have much longer to go! Hang in there everyone!
Really? Thats amazing! I just commited fo another school but I would give it up in an instant for Brown!
After giving up Cornell, I almost feel I would have to give up Brown too if I ever got off the waitlist. Which is so frustrating because I want to go there so badly! But money is money, unfortunately.
To update, I was told by my regional admissions officer that they are not sure if they will use the waitlist yet. Praying for everyone here!
