<p>UCLA never gets anyone good (anymore). I think TI was the biggest person that came the year before I came to UCLA.</p>
<p>UCLA’s choice for choosing which “artist” to pick has been based off of finding the cheapest recognizable artist. They seem to look for a hit song with multiple artists and bring in the cheapest one.</p>
<p>3 years ago: Estelle (lol who the hell?). Her 10 seconds of fame was only because she sang the chorus for “American Boy” in Kanye West’s song.</p>
<p>2 years ago: ■■■■■. They were getting more popular, but they aren’t even real artists. They are just glorified DJs.</p>
<p>Last year: Travie Mccoy. Besides being a part of the song millionaire with bruno mars, hes pretty much a nobody. </p>
<p>So this year the trend will probably continue and we will probably get Rebecca Black as the top performer.</p>

<p>I wish they would go for quality instead of quantity. Instead of having a bunch of nobodies last year they should have just gone for one person. I seriously haven’t listened to the Ying Yang twins since middle school, Bobby Brackins only had one popular song (“143”, and it sucks in my opinion), and The Cataracs’ biggest claim to fame was producing “Like a G6”. And to top it all off they got Travie McCoy as the headliner who wasn’t successful in either his band or solo efforts (except Billionaire) AND he spent half his time talking about how he wanted to bang the sorority girls.</p>
<p>I bet it’ll be along the lines of Far East Movement, Dev, Forster the People, maybe ■■■■■ again since they have a new album out. Gym Class Heroes have a new album coming out soon so another possibility.</p>

<p>We never really get super famous artists. 3 years ago we had Estelle (like the user above said, she was famous for like 10 seconds and that was it). We did, however, have HelloGoodbye and I thought they were awesome. 2 years ago we had ■■■■■, but that was before they were as famous as they are now. I mean, 2 years ago, most people were like “Who the hell is ■■■■■?” Then last year we had Travie McCoy…BUT NOT Bruno Mars?! Wack…</p>

<p>You pay $100 or so as part of your tuition every year that goes towards paying for things like this. I believe it’s called a “student activity fee” or something like that. So think of it more as “included” than “free.”</p>
