Brussels, Brugge, Amsterdam

Our daughter and SIL are in Amsterdam right now. They arrived Saturday morning and leave tomorrow, so about 4 full days. They, well SIL, limit themselves to one museum per day. They’ve done the Anne Frank House, the Resistance Museum, and VanGogh. Found lots of little bars and restaurants. The oldest Heineken bar in Amsterdam is in their hotel and SIL, who won’t drink Heineken here, enjoyed the beer there. I liked Rembrandt’s house - small and easy to get through.

Trams are easy to use & you just tap a credit card to pay.

When we were there last by ourselves, we stayed at the Dikker & Thijs hotel. Huge room, great service, just across the road from the Prinsengracht canal.

We were in Brussels years and years ago & found it forgettable. Loved Bruges, but again so long ago that it’s undoubtedly completely different.

Thanks everyone!
I am reading and making notes and following up on all your suggestions.

Besides the Rembrandts at the Rijks museum make sure to see the doll houses on display.

Bumping in hopes that @Illinoisparent12 reaches out with that VRBO recommendation.

I was trying to DM you this, but it doesn’t look like I’m able to? Here’s the link: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4500694?adults=1&children=0&infants=0&check_in=2024-03-11&check_out=2024-03-16&source_impression_id=p3_1699932962_IgICCKxV6XBQrueS&previous_page_section_name=1000&federated_search_id=09095e0d-a8e3-4fa5-849d-27798734e270.

Thanks, but bummer. It’s booked for our time.
But I will message the host to see if they have other properties.

Sorry to hear that - it was great. I’m sure there are many other great places thought - it’s such an awesome city.

We had seen The Miniaturist on PBS, which placed the dollhouses in the Rijksmuseum in context.
