there’s a link on your status page that says welcome 2016

[Welcome from Hayley, Camilla, and Rayna - YouTube](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube) :)

Congratulations to all that got accepted! For those wait listed, do not give up, keep showing you are interested :)

i’m in and a $15,000 per year merit scholarship! I’m still waiting to hear from six more schools (accepted to three others besides Bryn Mawr so far) ummm i guess ill post stats

SAT 2120 (670 M, 710 Wr, 740 CR)
A rather abysmal 28 on my ACTs (my subscore was well below the national average on math and science i think)
I go to this weird (but awesome) liberal private school with no APs, but in the context of my school I did take really hard classes (I didn’t do four years of a language, tho I did do 3 years of both Latin and American Sign Language, also no calculus)
GPA was like a 3.76 sort of (my school doesn’t really calculate them) We also don’t have class rankings, but if I had to guess I’d say I’m most likely in the top 3-5 of my class with about 90 kids
I think my big in with Bryn Mawr was that I have done a lot of social justice work, particularly feminist type stuff (head of feministy club at my school, did this big project on Planned Parenthood etc…) Also I have my Girl Scout Gold Award (120 hours of work for that) and I’ve been horseback riding for 10+ years
I hope that my recs were good because I’m really close with the teachers who wrote them, but I really have no idea since I haven’t read them.
I’m really the worst judge of my own writing, so I don’t know how they went over. I’m guessing my Why Bryn Mawr was decent but a bit generic.

Hope that is helpful to people… So question: Does anyone know when there will be accepted students days? I visited Bryn Mawr last year and really liked it, but I want to do an overnight visit and meet some other accepted students for 2016.

Also, just curious, does anyone know about what percentage of students get merit scholarships? I know it’s a relatively knew thing for Bryn Mawr…

skvetten-- the Bryn Mawr virtual shows the accept status plus the merit as
applicable. Daughter showed it to me-- with my eyes.

Good luck David

Congrats to everyone accepted, and for all those waitlisted or rejected, you WILL have a great college experience and find a school that fits for you.
Are there any accepted students out there from the Bay Area (California)? My D is also starting this fall, after a gap year.

@bn12gg is it on the financial aid page? Thanks in advance!

@shishigashira I’m from the Bay Area! I was accepted yesterday :)

Yes, merit aid is included on the financial page.

Also, Bryn Mawr sent out their acceptance packets today, so your award would be included in that too. They look amazing :)

WELL…BMC 2016 is looking a little more like the place for me…got in to another school that I would pick BMC over and got rejected from a few schools that would force a difficult decision…mixed feelings right now, but am definitely excited about Bryn Mawr

Received a big envelope from BMC today with a nice financial aid package. :). I’m impressed.

Well one more rejection but a surprise from BMC…even though I didn’t get any finaid, I will be reimbursed for up to $500 of my travel expenses for preview! Yay :)

@chank4
Same here… I cannot log in and I cannot even reset my password as well. I tried email-ing them but no repliew. I am international so it is not as easy for me to just ring them up. Have you logged in?

The personalized, handwritten notes in the acceptance package were so endearing! I’m starting to like BMC more and more.

Did anyone else get the travel scholarship thing? I’m excited by that. Hopefully they really want me, because I’m going to have to go beg for more financial aid while I’m down there…

My daughter received her acceptance package today.

She has the following background: 2120 SAT, 4.6 weighted GPA, federal science internship, color guard, violin/orchestra, very challenging high school workload, with mostly honors and AP courses. She wrote excellent essays. It was probably her best set of essays of all of her colleges applications. She also visited Bryn Mawr a few times, which included an interview. She received 12K merit. Unfortunately I don’t think we can afford it, so it looks like she will be freeing up a spot on the waiting list.

Just wanted to share my somewhat ironic turnout. I was waitlisted by Bryn Mawr on Thursday but Accepted to Haverford today. I think the determining factor was my H-ford supplement essay, which really helped to show how passionate I am about the school. So despite what statistics say, a fit is a fit and things always turn out to be okay in the end. :)

I got accepted to Bryn Mawr fall term of 2012. I remember going on a college visit during Christmas and I instantly fell in love with the school.

A little late but here are my stats:
Gpa: 3.3UW
ACT: 33
Recs from science and history teacher (idk how strong they were)
Lots of extracurriculars (orchestra principle cellist 8yrs, yearbook coeditor, nhs committee head, crew coxswain…etc)
Pretty decent essay
Washingtonian :)

Ive been accepted to mt holyoke as well :)

So I got a huge surprise today–I found out I received the Bryn Mawr Merit Scholarship!!! I am not a National Merit qualifier, so I was REALLY surprised. Anyone else?

I am waitlisted. What can I do now? Do I need to submit another letter of recommendation? Or something else?

Any awards, projects (including essays or publications) that you’re proud of, try sending it to them.

Also send them an email and/or a mail saying you really want to attend, and tell them to keep you on the waiting-list. It’s good to show initiative. I got wait-listed at another school and I’m doing that.
