i guess not today, disappointing
You never know… I don’t think they have always sent out emails the day of.
Aw man this is going to ruin my weekend if they don’t come out
lol maybe someone should call them up and ask what the what is going down. maybe we’ll get it by owl like in harry potter… i think someone said that already tho
Hi everyone! I’m a current student and I’m an intern in the office of admissions. Decisions will be released before winter break.
so definitely not today?
Called admissions and they said decisions were going to happen at the end of next week.
Oh no! Could still be today…as long as it’s by the end of next week.
what do you mean by today but also at the end of next week?
I don’t think they said they will be next week, they said by next week when i called. im trying to be hopeful
everyone take care of yourself! i know my anxiety is just prolonged now that it likely won’t be today— but let’s all try and commit to some self care this weekend as we wait. for me this is gonna be not refreshing my portal and email and this website every hour.
we should have a support group or something
i’m joining this forum just to say that i’m very nervous about the results, i’m so stressed
Best of luck to all! I know the wait is daunting but I’m looking forward to (hopefully) meeting you all in 2020! I contacted admissions and they said that results will be out by the end of next week (if that’s tomorrow or next Friday I don’t know). They also said they’d notify us via email the day of, so be on the lookout! If I get anything, you all will be the first to hear about it.
Wish you all the best and sending good vibes your way!
End of next week!!?!? That’s so far away. I might not survive the wait. I feel like I read somewhere on an older ED forum that they had estimated decisions to come out around the 24th and then they ended up coming out like on the 17th. Let’s hope this situation is something like that. I can’t wait so long!
In the past few years, they’ve also said by the beginning of break but have announced it around the 14th or 15th. Fingers crossed it’s sooner rather than later. We have a close family member getting married next weekend and we are worried about the decision overshadowing the event, especially if it’s bad news.
I know the wait is grating, but I am sure the decisions will be here before we know it! Would anyone be interested in sharing some stats? And does anyone have ideas about what they might want to major in? I figure getting some other conversation going would help take some heat off of the wait. I’m applying from the Southeast US, 3.75 Unweighted GPA (4.0 Weighted), 31 ACT, 6 AP classes taken out of the 8 my school offers, Head Drum Major for two years in my school’s marching band, President of Literary Society for two years, and quite a few other clubs. I’m definitely interested in majoring Philosophy and maybe a double major with Political Science or Psychology!
Wow! You sound like an awesome candidate! I’m in AL and attend a fairly small high school with fewer opportunities, so I am worried that my EC will hurt me. I am hoping that they will get a view of my high school enough to know that even if it does not sound like I am doing a lot, I am rigorous student comparatively in my area. I also revived my school’s Art and Literature Magazine/our Literary Society in general! Now we’re a hearty little book club whose fundraisers all go to our school library. IB sounds like another language to me, as all we have at my school are our 8 AP classes.
I am also from the southeast (Florida). I go the largest public school in my county; its so big, I’ve been there for 4 years and still see a new face everyday!!! I have taken a mix of AP and AICE classes (like IB). I have an unweighted of 3.8 and weighted of 4.6. I applied test optional because I loved the idea of a holistic application…hoping that doesn’t hurt me. My parents are originally from Philadelphia and always spoke highly of BMC. I decided to ED, because I really want to be in the company of smart, driven people. I hope, if I get in, I can keep up with everyone! I’ve taken art classes every year, this year I chose to take AP 2-D Studio Art. I have been in the Art NHS for 2 years. This year I was elected president and we’ve really worked to make it as big as possible. Emersenrose, I hope we’re on the shuttle together going to Haverford for art classes!! For EC, I am in NHS, but I do much more out of school. I volunteer with two friends at an elementary school, we do a program called SPARK where the kids come up with ideas for inventions and research to create a presentation. This year we held an in school science fair and some where chosen to go to regional science fair next month. Last month I completed the JDRF walk where I was on the committee to make everything happen. I do not have diabetes (actually have UC), but the leadership experience was amazing, and the event turned out great. I have also done volunteering at a nearby nursing home. Every Saturday I would do an art project with them that they could display or wear. This past summer I volunteered on the Pediatric Hem/Onc. floor of a local children’s hospital. I tried to make my essays (both Bryn Mawr and CommonApp) as personal as possible while being creative with my answers. The hundred word one actually made me cry writing it! You never realize how little 100 is till you’re already at 75 words and have barely said anything! Bryn Mawr is honestly my dream school, I hope to major in psychology and possible double minor in health science and design.
The 100 word prompt was so difficult because I had so much to say. It is so true that you really don’t know how few words that is! I have never heard of the JDRF walk until now, but as a diabetic (not type one but a form of MODY) that is awesome! I hope to take music classes at Haverford and be a part of the Bi-Co orchestra on Oboe, so how cool would it be for all of us to shuttle together? I just hope so much that we all get in!
