Bryn Mawr ED II question

@evelynne1996 I love the traditions too! They’re a big part of what helped me choose BMC  Yeah, I can’t wait to meet all of you lovely ladies if we get admitted! You said you’re an international - where are you from, if you don’t mind me asking? I live in Virginia, which is pretty close to Pennsylvania, so the drive to BMC only takes 2-3 hours.

i’m from south NJ, right outside of Philly. Bryn Mawr is 30 mins to an hour away depending on traffic (and how
much my Dad speeds).

would be cool to meet someone from another country.

@rach131‌ I just wanted to drop in and put this out there: I’m a first year at Bryn Mawr (so I was obviously accepted). I had a really, really weird situation. I was out of school for about a year and a trimester, and I did really low-quality online classes that may or may not have counted towards graduation. Bryn Mawr really does take obscure situations into consideration, so don’t worry!

@starsforeyes‌ I’m from Vietnam  It seems like many of you guys live close to BMC. Being an international student, I never had the chance to visit - and that always make me envy you guys because some campuses are just unbelievably gorgeous, like BMC

@evelynne1996 Wow that’s very cool! Don’t worry about not visiting, I found the website and student reviews painted a very accurate picture. And you’ll get to Are you girls excited about the Hogwarts dinner? I toured the day they were setting it up and they go all out!

Haha sorry I’m typing this on my phone and I think it cut off part of that last post! *and you’ll get to know it well if you get in! We’ll be spending 4 years at BMC.

I’ve seen the pictures. It’s like a dream come true! I tend to get overexcited about things that concern Hogswart

Hogwarts!

I’ve never been out of the states, or even to much of the states, so would love to venture outside the US and see the world.

@evelynne1996 haha I understand how you feel! I mentioned in my essay that only Bryn Mawr could fulfill my dream of being a Hogwarts student!

@rach131 when I visited my tour guide talked lots about how easy it is to study abroad! You’ll probably get to see a lot of we get into BMC!

Mentioned Hogwarts too, though not in the same way as you did. I guess we’re all obsessed with this aspect. Another thing that makes me love BMC - this place will probably where I could find the greatest number of like-minded classmates

i thought I was going back to school today. turns out its not til the 16th. i don’t even want ten more days off. I’ve been off since the 19th. i actually want to go back to school.

i need a distraction from obsessing over college stuff.

plus side, I’ll have time to work on the fourth issue of my lit mag, when I make myself get around to it.

and there are some good movies out.

@evelynne1996 haha I feel the same way! In one of the other discussion the girls talked for over a page about different animes! I feel like I’ll be among lots of likeminded girls.

@rach131 luckily school is back in session for me but I can sympathize. The waiting is the hardest part! Unbroken is a fantastic movie if you haven’t seen it yet. You could take up time reading the book and then seeing the movie.

thanks. its on my list of to read and to see.

sitting here doing the math as to how long it should take for them to finish reading our apps, all hypothetically of course with educated guesses and a bit of actual knowledge from the mock app review on my tour.

And I hate math. so its not like because cool, math.

i do remember them saying they take about 8 mins an app. obviously more people do ed II than ed I as its hard to get it all done that early and be 100 confident you want to go somewhere then.

i added a 2 hr margin of error for deliberation. and did estimates for them taking 4 hours and 6 hours each weekday on the apps.

heaven help me. lol.

those of you applying for financial aid all have the option to view aid and accept/decline award right (nothing is there: award access is unavailable and financial aid inquiry status is denied)?

Yeah, I think so. I think we shouldn’t guess anything this early - I mean, they downloaded all my materials for sure but they still haven’t updated my application portal yet. They are too busy to update anything about financial aid at this point.

@evelynne1996 I agree, sadly it’s probably too early to speculate.

Do either of you gals know the acceptance rate for ED2 and how many girls apply? I’ve seen the combined acceptance rate and number of applicants, but not the separate numbers of just ED2. I’m trying to stop worrying but I can’t help myself! I just want to get into BMC so badly

@starsforeyes‌ Me too! I hope BMC can see how badly we all want to get in and just accept everyone! Seriously, I’m trying really hard not to get too attached, but I already can’t wait to meet all of you

average over both decisions is 250 and 50 percent acceptance rate. i’m guessing based on their FB that 30 were in for ed I and at least 10 rejected. if that’s about right, it takes the overall acceptance rate for ed I and ed II and makes it 38 percent for us. which is ehhh.

Oh my goodness! That’s an even lower acceptance rate than RD! That’s scary. I wish I could just know for sure where I’m going. The waiting is so awful.

its about the same as RD. well, the 50 seemed promising but when I began to do my guestimation calculations i got a bit discouraged… should have that about that before. oh well.
