******-I did crew freshman year but was forced to stop because I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. After my diagnosis in October, i attempted to run track second semester freshmen year and made it through the season, but it was very bad for my health. I now swim on my own and go to the gym practically every day but am unable to really participate competitively in any sports because of my arthritis. I am hoping that this won't hurt my chances too bad, as I am also planning on writing my college essay about how having Juvenile Diabetes and Rheumatoid arthritis has made me both a stronger person and one who is more understanding of others and has become more compassionate because of my difficulties. Also, it has spurred my interest in medicine and auto-immune diseases and caused me to do whatever i can to help the JDRF and volunteer and their organization</p>
