Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Swarthmore, U of Delaware - *Special Circumstances!!*

I'm an upcoming senior in high school and Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Swarthmore, and the University of Delaware are a few of my top choices. I want to know my chances for getting into these schools and also, if anybody has any other suggestions for schools that would be a good fit, those would be much appreciated! ******-I did crew freshman year but was forced to stop because I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. After my diagnosis in October, i attempted to run track second semester freshmen year and made it through the season, but it was very bad for my health. I now swim on my own and go to the gym practically every day but am unable to really participate competitively in any sports because of my arthritis. I am hoping that this won't hurt my chances too bad, as I am also planning on writing my college essay about how having Juvenile Diabetes and Rheumatoid arthritis has made me both a stronger person and one who is more understanding of others and has become more compassionate because of my difficulties. Also, it has spurred my interest in medicine and auto-immune diseases and caused me to do whatever i can to help the JDRF and volunteer and their organization

Pre-med isn’t a major…lol

I feel like you can get into all of the schools you listed though. Your stats are impeccable and ECs are pretty good. I am very sorry about your “special circumstances”, and I hope you are able to overcome your difficulties as you get older. Perhaps you’ll become a biomedical researcher and cure JD and RA :)

I hope you get into the school of your dreams, and good luck!
