On some financial forms, they have a spot for “Student ID.”

I am a prospective student, and as far as I know of I have not received an ID yet. Should I have?

If you have a Virtual Bryn Mawr account, your student ID is displayed in the top right corner of the Student Center. It’s also at the top or bottom of some e-mails sent by Bryn Mawr.

I have a question relating to this. I applied ED II and have not yet received a Virtual Bryn Mawr account. I remember reading somewhere on this forum that applicants got their account two weeks after applying. I had everything finished and submitted online the 16th of December… When exactly do you get your account information and should I be worried that I have not received it yet?

Their office was closed over the Christmas break, wasn’t it? In any case, I submitted my application on November 1, the letter was sent out on November 10, and snail mail got to me on November 19.

I just got my ID today! Thanks for replying. There’s a link to “view financial aid” and one to “accept/decline awards” (but then it says that access is denied). In other threads in this forum many have said that this indicates acceptance… but many have also said that those link showed up even though they had not applied for aid, so I’m not really sure what to think. I’ll just wait for the results to come up, hope for acceptance, but prepare for rejection. Will we know for ED II by the end of January? Waiting is so hard!

I don’t think the financial aid links mean anything - I had the impression that everyone can see them. They don’t link to a financial aid award unless and until one gets posted for you.

Back when I was applying (now 4 years ago!), Virtual Bryn Mawr indicated the admission decision in the Student Center (scroll down to the very bottom of the page, way past the Admissions tab):
green dot = accepted
yellow triangle = waitlisted
red octagon = rejected

The symbols appeared before admission decisions were officially released. The admissions office never told us about them, but some clever applicants figured it out among themselves right here on CollegeConfidential! :D

Good luck!

I thought the financial aid links did mean something, but I could be wrong. I never got them, since I didn’t apply for financial aid.

As for those little symbols… I didn’t get 'em. Believe me, I looked REALLY hard.

Ralenys, I have my fingers crossed for you - let me know if you’re going to be my future classmate!

b@r!um- Thanks for the tip. I went to scroll down as soon as I read this! Alas, there is neither a green dot, yellow triangle, or red octagon (but I’ll keep on looking for them!)

kfletcher- I’ll be sure to let you know! Hopefully we WILL be classmates :)

i emailed BMC for my virtual bryn mawr ID, as I did not receive it even after 5 weeks of submission of my application…> <

Hopefully that “green dot” thingy would show up in a few days =)

ralenys-It seems that last year the result for ED II was released on 28th Jan (as I saw in other forums) (and this waiting is killing me,too |||)

Good luck to the both of you! Won’t be too too long now…

I don’t think they do the green/yellow/red dot thing anymore. At least, they didn’t last year when I was waiting for results :)

-kfletcher: thx^^ just realize that you are also from singapore! I was in RV=) did you get in in EDI?

@minievie yep!

when do regular decision applicants get their virtual bryn mawr ID?

I applied RD on Jan 1 and got my Virtual Bryn Mawr ID… I don’t know, but it was at least two weeks ago. It pretty much had the same things as described above, and for now is only good for seeing what sort of admissions/financial aid stuff they have and have not received.
