I am a senior interested in major in Economics/Law, but not sure about what career to choose yet. I visited both school and am really hesitate now. Plz give me some advice! thanks!
Well, you can major in economics at both and you can enter a career in law from both, as well as a variety of careers.
Can you tell us a little more about you, what you’re looking for in a college, and the pros and cons of each school from your perspective? That’ll help people give you advice.
Also, are there cost differences?
Thank you for replying!!
For my point of view, NYU is definitely more famous, and it might offer more chance. Bryn Mawr attracts me with its supportive environment, and students might have more chance to communicate with their professors. However, this can be a double-edged sword: if I get into conflict with one professor, it will be a huge deal. both schools have the similar cost…thank you!
Which campus do you like more? Did you do visits to these?
Fame doesn’t really matter. Really. Nobody hires or admits someone because they went to a famous school.
What about the environment/education at each did you like/dislike.
Did you run the Net Price Calculator? Also be aware that there have been posts on this forum that the NYU NPC is wway off. If you are relying on FA from NYU you may need to brace yourself for what the “real” cost will be once you’re accepted. It has happened that people think it’s in their cost range, but then were sadly disappointed to discover that it would cost them tens of thousands more than they expected.
Hey!! I know you already committed, but I was also choosing between Bryn Mawr and NYU. I chose NYU and I love it but I always wonder what Bryn Mawr would’ve been like…what did you go with, if you don’t mind me asking?
