Hi I know this is really stupid but can I just ask, is the to do list in that bionic account supposed to show anything? IDK I’m so confused because I did submit my CSS, I’d already uploaded all my documents using IDOC but Idk I don’t get it I feel like I’ve done something wrong
@Kittywitty I’ve uploaded all the same things and my to-do list doesn’t have anything listed either. I think it was just for financial aid
As long as your to do list is empty then you should be fine.
Oh ok THANK GOD !! And TYSM!!! @cma1016 @oboeyoudidnt
Good luck everyone! I hope they release admission decisions on Friday but I’m super nervous?.
Does anyone know when they’ll tell us the decision date?
Hey everyone, I’m a Bryn Mawr student class of ‘22. I was exactly in your position last year on CC waiting for admissions decisions and compulsively refreshing the RD page and admissions page. I just wanted to write that I have been thinking about you all this week! This week for me was one of the most difficult times in my academic career, not the worry of not getting in but more of the anxiety of just not knowing. Of course, I got in. I could have sworn there was no way I was going to get in, but I did and I am here now. Bryn Mawr is everything I could have imagined or wanted it to be, and more. I want to wish you all luck, and offer any answers to questions you may have, I know I would have appreciated it when I was in your position. Please, feel free to message me, I am eager to help and share my experience because I love Bryn Mawr so much. This really is a confusing and difficult time for a senior, and as a First gen student navigating the entire process alone, I found CC both incredibly helpful and incredibky anxiety provoking because it showed me all I didn’t know. But if you take away anything from this post I’ve made, let it be this:
You are all hard workers. You have all gotten this far. Wherever you end up, be it Bryn Mawr, or community college or somewhere in between, you will find your people and you will thrive. You WILL Find your happiness.
Once again, I wish you best of luck and hope you reach out to me! I’m more than happy to give honest and real answers.
Much love,
Tarin
When is it coming out?
They haven’t said anything officially but I’m guessing Saturday at 4 pm most likely… but it could be tomorrow?? Potentially
Hi Tarin! Thank you so much for this, I just got waitlisted on a school and really needed this little pick me up. This is why I love Bryn Mawr, fingers crossed. Thanks again!
I think last year people got emails the day of saying that it’ll be coming out that day, but I’m not sure
Hi @SemperAnticus , I’ve been looking at a ton of old forums for Bryn Mawr RD and I recognized your profile right away :). I really want to go to Bryn Mawr but I’m super anxious because my stats aren’t as high as I’d like them to be. I have an SAT score of 1350 (730 on reading/writing, 620 on math) an unweighted GPA of 3.7 and mostly honors classes. I"ve taken AP World History (5 on the exam), and am taking AP Psychology, AP Literature and Composition, and AP Environmental Science this year. I was also in a year long class at my school that led workshops of sexual health and education for Freshman which I got both community service and leadership hours for, and I created and led a project where I put together care packages for patients at the behavioral health ward at my local hospital. I did an on campus interview in the fall, I’m not sure if it went well because it feel really short compared to the rest of my interviews, however I asked lots of specific questions so I hope that helped a little bit. I wrote my supplement on my efforts to get students at my school involved with politics as well as my leadership in putting together a walkout at my school for the National School Walkouts last year. I’m really nervous because my SAT and GPA are below average of Bryn Mawr and I just got waitlisted at Mount Holyoke, which I thought was a target school for me. Bryn Mawr is my top choice, but if you don’t think I have a good shot at getting in please tell me; I’d rather be disappointed now than later. Thanks so so much in advance for any feedback you can give me, I really appreciate it even if it isn’t positive.
@oboeyoudidnt Why are you guessing Saturday? I thought Bryn Mawr has never released on a weekend.
@nosleeep I’m guessing Saturday because they’ve released decisions on the 23rd for the last 3 years and it’s likely they’ll stick with that date. I’ve had several colleges release decisions on Saturdays this month, so it’s not unheard of. I could be wrong though! We’ll find out soon enough!
it comes out at 4 pm
Yep I just got the email!
I’m quaking good luck everyone
@abbyrose01 It actually looks like your stats and test scores are very similar to mine. I had a very low weighted GPA but it was because I did poorly in math but very good in all of my AP classes (ex, a C in algebra but all A’s in my AP classes). I’m going to be honest with you and tell you most of the people I know here at Bryn Mawr were accepted to MHC (including me). About 50% of people I know here were accepted to Smith, and I know lots of people waitlisted at Wellesley (all true for me). I think BMC really takes times to analyze your grades and not just the GPA number. My SAT was 1250, but I only took it once in 10th grade and then I ended up going with the ACT (31 or 32, I can’t remember). I did, however, have a great interview, but not as much leadership roles on my app. It should also be noted that I did not get ANY merit aid, so sometimes (when I’m having a bad day) I feel like they barely accepted me.
@JGwhatup I’m glad I was able to make you feel a little better Bryn Mawr is really a place where people support each other if you open yourself up to the love. I was waitlisted at a lot of schools that I was really interested in (NYU, Wellesley) but in the end, I realized I didn’t want to go through the appeals process or try to get off the waitlist because I was already so burnt out. But, I am sure all of you have gotten into somewhere at this point. While I believe Bryn Mawr can bring out the best in lots of people and enhance their natural or preexisting strengths and character, I ultimately think anywhere you go to school you get what you make of it.
I am so excited for all of you. I encourage you to continue reaching out and even asking questions because I feel like I have so much knowledge and tips from when I went through this and no outlet.
P.S try to keep yourself busy today! I went on a long car drive right before admissions came out so it was impossible for me to agonize over refreshing my page.
also @abbyrose01, I just remembered. I was waitlisted at my SAFETY SAFETY school (UC Santa Cruz). I think it was yield protection (essentially, they don’t accept overqualified applicants because they know they will get into better schools and ultimately reject the safety school, thus making their yield rate unfavorable). I know UCs practice it, but not sure about private colleges.
@SemperAnticus thanks so much, I feel a little better now. MHC mentioned in their waitlist letter that they’d been overenrolled with the last two classes and had to majorly cut down on their number of accepted students this year, so I’m hoping that it was a fluke and I would have gotten in if this had been a year or two ago. I really hope I’ll be seeing you on campus next year, and thanks again for your help
