Bryn Mawr -- Stats vs Results?

It would be helpful for future applicants to hear stats of applicants to BMC vs. the results.

If you want, could you please list–

GPA
ACT/SAT score (and did you report to BMC?)
ECs
ED or Reg Decision
Results (admit, defer, waitlist, decline)

Thank you!

I’m an international student and BMC was somewhere in the top as far as my college preferences were concerned.

GPA - 3.89/4
SAT - 1490 (New SAT), Reported
SAT Subject test - Did not sit for them.
ECs - I was involved in a lot actually. For starters, I did a six year course in classical music where I explored the various avenues of Bengali music. I also did a three-year course in art (mixed media) and sent in a portfolio. I was invloved in community service as well - served as a sponsor to an underprivileged primary school student, volunteered at a mother-child and family planning centre, worked at a college advising forum for applicants in my country. Secondly, I was an active member of a creative writing workshop and was also a member of an all woman’s club that met once a month to talk about literary classics. What did it for me though, was offering myself for internships in various labs, writing my own research proposal, shadowing a researcher for data collection, working wih victims of acid survivors. I also taught grade 10 students biology at a local after-school help centre.
ED/RD - Regular decision
Results - admitted with a near-full ride (THANK GOD!)

For future applicants - Bryn Mawr college never wants you to write a typical “Why College” supplement. They expect your voice to shine through and prefers to see instances of personal growth/strength. It’s more towards, “Why should we choose you?” as opposed to, “Why do you want us?”. Honestly, community engagement, working towards women empowerment, and the ability to learn and apply that in real world scenarios got me in. I strongly believe I got lucky tho.

Good luck to you all, class of 2022!
