I was just wondering everyones general impression of Bryn Mawr. I am just completing my freshman year at a midwestern college and am looking to transfer. From everything I have read / heard, it sounds fabulous!
If you attend Bryn Mawr, what solidified your decision?
If looking, why?
I read on a Princeton Review website that the professors at Bryn Mawr are not great. Any comments towards this?
People? Are they generally nice? cliquey?
Any comments would surely help. I do understand that visiting is the best way to develop one’s own perspective, but just trying to get a general feel first.

Very much appreciate your insight! Have a great day.

I am a current BMC sophomore. I decided to attend because it was so academically rigorous, full of women who have a thirst for learning like me.

I have never heard that professor at Bryn Mawr are anything less than fabulous as a whole. And I did peruse Princeton Review quite thoroughly before coming here :) I can't say anything about that, but in my experience it's false.

People here are generally nice, although I will not say there aren't cliques. It's not too pervasive, and I don't imagine it'd be MUCH different than any college.

We recently visited Bryn Mawr and were very impressed with the campus and the facilities. The students we met were warm and friendly. My daughter would like to observe a class sometime in the spring.
I did a quick review of a few of the science departments web sites and thought they appeared to be strong. Acceptance rates to grad schools are also high.

I have only visited but from what I've seen BMC is a really great place! I'm interning with a Bryn Mawr alum and she's made me really excited about applying. When I visited it didn't even seem like an all women's school since guys were wandering around as well and the teachers for the classes I sat in on were engaging and personal.
But you shouldn't rely on my personal opinion..go see BMC! Visiting made it #1 on my list after I had originally pushed it away because of the all girls steriotype. They really put an effort into making visiting great so see it for yourself.
