@GoldenRatio: I believe Asians are not so familiar with using nice words frequently, maybe I’m wrong. But the frequency of the nice words you use, IMO, is high haha.

Based on the way I speak and post would you assume I was Asian?

@CellyZ: of course not! I remember she posted somewhere on CC telling that she’s Asian, I just wanna confirm! You’re from the States right?

wait, my final guess is: you’re Asian! Is that right CellyZ?

i’m AZN btw

I’m Indian and doing full pay. I want to explore this idea of how much full pay affects your app.
That said, I think this thread is a little bit too early and not too detailed. All that’s really there is age and race and general facts, but there are so many other facts like grades and recs and interviews. I say we wait till M9 and then make a stats thread.

Grade applying: 10th
Gender: F
Ethnicity: Asian American
State: northwest (don’t want to give too much personal info)
Full pay or FA: FA
Repeat grade: No
HADES: Andover and Exeter - I wouldn’t board across the country at any other schools.
Hook: Nationally ranked cross country and track runner, National science fair semifinalist 2 yrs in row, honor roll in national american math contest since 7th grade, piano for 10 years, Gold Award in girl scouts, I won’t list anymore for privacy.
SSAT: 99% everything
SAT: (8th grade) 2100s, a disappointment but hopefully next year will be better!

@eeliu1234: your stats are impressive :D. That’s what an Asian- American stats should be. :D

@hamburger110 I’m not too sure how being an Asian-American relates to my stats, because I’m not really trying to conform to a stereotype like that. Thanks though! :)

@eeliu1234: Well, they [your stats] put mine [a fellow Asian-American] to shame. My SAT score in seventh grade was a 1800…and you’re saying a 2100 is a disappointment? :D

@eeliu1234: I mean it’s a perfect combination of Asian wisdom, discipline and American innovation, well-roundedness.(Ddid I make up a word?)

@GoldenRatio I didn’t really mean to compare to others, it was more of a disappointment for myself I guess. Besides, 1800 in 7th grade is really good!! Congrats.

@hamburger110 Ohh okay that makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the compliment then!
and yes, I think you did make up that word haha.

@eeliu1324: Can you find a substitute for that word ?(I think you know what I mean by using that word)

Ooh! A word challenge. I love those! …but sorry for butting in; I just couldn’t resist. :)

The only word I know that might be close is “omnicompetent.” But that means that eeliu1234 has the capabilities to handle any situation. Is that what you mean?

Or you could just reword your sentence and say that “you have shown that you are a very well-rounded individual.”

@eeliu1234: Thanks!

@GoldenRatio: thanks! Why don’t they have that word huh? Omnicompetent is not close in teerms of meaning, and yes, i guess i would have to say ‘’ you’re a well-rounded individual’’

@hamburger110: English is so weird sometimes. But since it’s a constantly evolving language, you might be able to claim that “well-roundedness” is an actual word…

I’m an Asian, but this is indeed so stereotypically Asian I lol’d.

@GoldenRatio: I will get that word trademarked.
@MBVLoveless: is that stereotype? God! I dont know if I ppass the 2100 mark 2 years from now!
!

No, no, I mean the I-got-2390-on-the-SAT-OMG-MUST-RETAKE-OR-I-WILL-NOT-GET-INTO-ANY-COLLEGES kind of stereotype.
