Hi, as the title suggests, what is the difference between a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (with a concentration in Accounting) vs Accounting?
From a practical standpoint, there is really no difference. It’s just a matter of what the school offers and how their departments are set up. In 25+ years in the accounting profession, I’ve never seen an employer make a distinction one way or the other. I suspect most people would refer to their BS in Bus Admin (Accounting) as an “accounting degree.”
Here in CA, most UC schools offer only a “business economics” degree for accounting undergrads. Those students have no problems getting Big 4 job and becoming CPAs.
Good luck!
