BS Class of 2022 Thread

Now I know the deal…

@“Mama Paradox” Just FYI: To tag another user so they get an alert that someone has mentioned them, put an ampersand before their user name in your message. For example, @ AppleNotFar – but with no space after the ampersand. (I had to leave a space there, so you could see the format and not actually tag AppleNotFar.)

Thanx

@“Mama Paradox” I agree with @momof3swimmers about A/E. DH and I haven’t attended an A/E weekend yet so I’m no help there. If I were to prioritize the weekends we’ve visited, I would say that Family Weekend is at the top of the list. I’ll PM you with specifics on our other visits.

With further reference to the tagging FYI posted by @ChoatieMom, note that users with spaces or characters in their CC names need quotes surrounding the name in order for the tag to take. For instance, for @“Mama Paradox” you need to type @ “Mama Paradox” minus the space after the @.

Happy calendar planning to the parents of the CC class of 2022!!!

@AppleNotFar thanks for the explanation on how to tag someone with a space in the username - I couldn’t figure that one out!

I also don’t understand how users quote one another and make it appear in a gray box - another CC mystery to me! @ChoatieMom appears to be an expert on how to do that…

(In order to format your post, erase the spaces between the brackets and put it right before what you want formatted. At end of it, put the second part to stop the formatted change.)

[ b ] bold [/b ]
[ i ] italics [/i ]
[ u ] underline [/u ]
[ color=red ] red /color
For bullet points:
[ list ] and for each bullet point after [ * ] At end of list, put [ /list ]
[ size=5 ] font size 5 /size
[ font=webdings] webdings /font

While @AppleNotFar is correct, some of those codes have been disabled for this site; the font size comes immediately to mind. And the color codes are generally only used in results threads.

Was on my email and received the notice that “skieurope mentioned you in…”.

That’s always cause for an immediate “uh-oh” to come out of my mouth. :-S

Ok, we’ll see if I actually did it correctly. As for the quoted text above, thank you for including it, but that’s a lot of work since I type most of my answers on my phone :-*

Looks like I forgot the / in the second quote function, I guess that’s why it grayed my whole comment.

Good afternoon, @AppleNotFar and all I must stop being a computer dinosaur person…Talked with kids today about doing laundry while away at school. While taking the tour of dorms, a lot of the kids where using the schools laundry service.Outside of many of their doors were the special service bags. I hear it can be slightly expensive. Has anyone one tried this service for their special kiddos ?

Yup.

@“Mama Paradox” Both my kid and roomy use the service. It’s a luxury, but also a real convenience. Have you received the link yet to see the pricing?

Yes. There have been several threads on this

@AppleNotFar, I am waiting the school to post the link. Thinking about saving for this convenience for each twin.

@“Mama Paradox” They serve many schools. Unfortunately I don’t think you can get the pricing without creating an account. But I seem to recall that the link sent by the school will have the pricing.

@skieurope, there you go my trusty crystal ball again !

My kiddos filled out their dorm questionnaires. I suggested to consider a single room. Both felt having a roommate would be great. As a parent, I just go with the flow… They can not wait until September. There is so much excitement in our house.

We haven’t received dorm info yet, but did receive placement test information and helped cjkid pick classes for the fall last night. So exciting!
