BS/DO programs?

Does anyone have a list of BS/DO programs? I've looked all over the internet, done a search and could only find a couple. I have a 3.9 UW and 30 ACT, so are there any I'd have a shot at?

By the way, I'm not someone looking for a shortcut by doing DO. I'm actually interested in its philosophy and applying for that reason.

oh and can you suggest some dental programs as well? I'm trying to decide between dentistry, medicine, consulting, and engineering management as careers (I know its a lot, but yeah), and so even dental programs might end up being useful.

The only ones I know of are Pacific, and Upenn's thing through a few undergrad schools, so yeah. And for Pacific, do they have other requirements to stay in because the website doesn't make it clear at all whether or not they do.

Pitzer has one. (I think) BA/DO

i will be attending Pitzer's 7 year BS/DO program this fall. Definitely if you need any more info, i will be here to answer you question.

there are couple more BS/DO programs
-NYIT/ NYCOM
-University of the Sciences in Philadelphia/PCOM

I know Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL has one

I was wondering how hard it is to get into DO schools anyway?
Is it just as competitive as medical schools?

Well for one thing DO schools are medical schools. If you ask if its as competitive as allopathic schools - depends. I would just say medical schools in general are tough- seeing how almost everyone in the beginning of college call themselves "Pre-Med". Personally, just keep in mind that regardless of which medical school you end up going - md or DO, you will have to work your butt off to get into a good residency and your desired specialty you want.

california_love8,

You are way too over the map to be ready for a fast track program. I would avoid them, simply because you don't seem to know exactly what you want.

yeah you're probably right UCLAri. I think given how much I've been shifting, its probably not really worth committing myself right now. But still do post it for others, even if I might not end up using it, there are plenty of other people that are looking for these that had as much trouble as I did.

my advice would go shadow a doctor, dentist, pharmacist, and health management proposal first. See if you like any one in particular and then apply to the programs.

just my 2 Cents

Michigan State University has a BS/DO program.

IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology)

Medicine

With dual admission programs in medicine and osteopathic medicine, as well a very successful pre-medical studies plan, students interested in medical careers can start at IIT and continue on to some of the top medical schools in the country.
