Hi guys!
I am curious if Bachelors in Biotechnology can allow me to get Masters in Biomedical Engineering or BME ?
Or should I take at least the classic engineering courses such as ME, EE ??
My future goal is to get a masters in BME but my school offers Biotechnology and is well known for it. So, should I go with ME, EE or just Biotechnology for my BS?
Help me please!
It’s definitely possible to move from a non-engineering discipline to bioengineering/BME for graduate school. My bachelor’s degree is in neuroscience and I will be starting a bioengineering program in the fall.
Take a look at the entry requirements for bioengineering masters programs online. They usually don’t require an engineering degree, but instead list prerequisite courses. This typically includes math (usually through multi-variable calc, lin alg, diff eq), physics, chemistry, biology, and possibly programming. If you plan ahead now, you should be able to make sure you fit in any requirements not already covered by your major requirements.
Thank you for the info! I would look carefully to the future grad schools I am willing to attend
