BS in Computational Biology

Hey everyone,

I was admitted to MCS, waitlisted for SCS, but regardless, I was hoping to try and apply for the comp bio program at CMU at the beginning of sophomore year if I attended.

I was wondering as to what differences are there between pursuing the BS through MCS as per pursuing it through SCS. Could someone elucidate the differences for me?

According to the undergraduate course catalog, it looks like the requirements are the same for students who come from MCS and those from SCS.

The order you might take them in may differ. For example freshman CS majors take Concepts of Mathematics in the fall and then Great Theoretical ideas in the spring. I think this is more hedging the case you that do not get in, you don’t take too many classes that are not needed for your major.
